24 Great Open Source Apps for Admins & Technicians {Download Squad}

Oct 1st 2008 2:38PM Wow great list and great starting point. I knew about a few of these, but others I was just completely unaware of but was looking for a good solution for.

Rock Band's AC/DC package comes complete with fine print {Xbox 360 Fanboy}

Oct 1st 2008 9:04AM This is the dumbest thing ever. How about jumping back into the stone age again.

Verizon getting a CDMA iPhone that runs Windows Mobile, clears acne {Engadget Mobile}

Sep 30th 2008 8:57AM I think you're over dramatizing how hard it would be to make a CDMA iphone. Its a totally valid thing to happen I'd think. So many people chained to verizon in the US would buy that iphone its not even funny. Smart business move in my opinion.

T-Mobile G1 pre-orders sell out (update: not quite yet) {Engadget}

Sep 28th 2008 12:58PM Just hoping they'll have ones available on release to the general public. I'm currently on verizon, and want to get the hell off it...

Palm Treo Pro now shipping {Engadget Mobile}

Sep 26th 2008 11:30AM Yeah.. i more said the Android stuff as a half joke.

(BTW all things you listed can come in the way of a Software update i believe, especially if new hardware supported it more. Plus the tethering thing is policy and carrier, and can be circumvented by wifi tethering that is an inevitable application.)

Palm Treo Pro now shipping {Engadget Mobile}

Sep 26th 2008 9:08AM Wouldn't this have been sexier as an android phone? I think so. That'd be cool for Palm to do something drastic like that, intead of clinging to life on Win Mo, and hoping they'll release their own OS one day again.

Engadget Cares: save us from Apple's groundbreaking, developer-shackling App Store {Engadget}

Sep 25th 2008 2:46PM Thank you Ryan Block.

My alternative solution is that they forgo the whole need for the apps store being the only way to get apps onto the phone. Sell what you want with whatever rules you want on the apps store, but let people download whatever else and install if they so choose. Then people who can't sell on app store can sell outside it, and the consumer takes on the risk, just like the very successful model software for personal computers has had, and just like any open market has had since the idea of an open market existed.

Street Fighter IV boxarted with Chun-Li and Ryu {Xbox 360 Fanboy}

Sep 24th 2008 2:57PM well it makes sense that we get chun-li, mostly because the art they chose shows a lot of cleavage. Thats pretty much what sells in the US right?

Japan planning its own damn space ladder {Engadget}

Sep 24th 2008 10:27AM How are they going to protect this thing from space debris?
