BMW finally acknowledges turbo lag, will update software {Autoblog}

Nov 19th 2008 4:53AM Well every turbo charged car from some dudes Honda, to your BMW, or my Porsche will have lag. Even with VarioCam and similar technology to reduce the lag, it's still going to be there.

And engine noise "Very un-befitting for such an expensive car"? Yeah... it's not an expensive car; if it was an expensive car you wouldn't have a rattle in the first place and I wouldn't know people who have gone bankrupt multiple times and still have a 3 series.

Happy 30th, 7-Series! {Autoblog}

Aug 5th 2007 4:29AM I guess I should consider myself lucky... I've only ever owned BMW's and have seriously only had them worked on for consumables (Tires, Brakes, Belts, things of that nature) except for some reason over the years I've had a 525i and a 740Li blow a hole in the heater hose; perhaps I should quit constantly flooring the cars.

Auto thieves get stuck on new deterrent {Autoblog}

Sep 12th 2006 7:50AM "10. I would like to know how it doesn't get into the theives' nose and mouth to prevent breathing. If the theives' mouth is open would they not get a mouthful of expanding foam? Seems like it wouldn't take much to choke someone with this rather than just trap them."

... And one does wonder why you care for the theives well-being.

Jul 25th 2006 5:39PM #13 ... Apparently you never heard about the Concorde tires shreading to only hit the fuel tank afterward.

Effects of higher U.S. gas prices spreading {Autoblog}

Jul 25th 2006 5:18PM One thing i'll never understand... Gas goes up 20 cents, so everyone buys a new car that uses less fuel. Let see, a new car on the cheapest end is what 10,000 usd? Now how much gas you think you could buy with that? Quite a bit, especially if you just use that money for the extra price on the gallon.

The exception of course is if you were already planning to buy a new vehicle anyway, then sure go for the fuel saving car; unless the choice comes between say a regular Honda that gets 25mpg vs the hybrid that costs maybe 8,000 usd more and gets 40mpg... then you could once again just put the 8,000 toward the difference in gas price.
