AT&T, O2 post updates on iPhone 3G stock situation, promise they don't have a secret cache {Engadget}

Jul 24th 2008 1:00PM Check out http://apps.facebook.com/iphonestock that uses the Apple feed to determine stock. It seems to get updated every 15 mins but I advise you calling up the Apple Store before heading down there.

It does all the US states plus the UK (which is in the state dropdown because I was too lazy to do any transform on the data).

:)

AT&T, O2 post updates on iPhone 3G stock situation, promise they don't have a secret cache {Engadget}

Jul 24th 2008 12:55PM I knocked up a little Facebook/Popfly app to get the stock levels without having to wait until 9pm. It isn't in the Facebook search yet but you can add it from http://apps.facebook.com/iphonestock

I don't know how regularly it is updated but the data does change several times through the day and it makes use of a feed that exists on Apple's website.

It is purely for 'fun' and not guaranteed in any way to be real-time but I know a couple of people who used it and found it to be accurate. Now if only we could get a feed for queue lengths!

Black iPhone 3G vs. white iPhone 3G... fight! {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 22nd 2008 6:45AM So true Erik, I did the same thing when the first gen one came out. I got myself a Blackjack and I preferred it to my friend's iPhone. I did go for the 3G one though this time around because it added the two dealbreakers, 3G & Exchange support.

Sure the battery life is crappy on the 3G (I bet your Tilt is), and the Exchange support is lacking a lot of features (which they'll fix in software i'm sure) and I'm happy to be a sheep this time around.

Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

PS. I got the white one, looks great.

Nissan GT-R laps the Top Gear test track in... {Autoblog}

Jul 21st 2008 4:00AM Having been *very* fortunate to have driven a GT-R against a bunch of the competition I would not be surprised if it does hit the top of the leaderboard.

The car is astonishing, you point it in a direction, press the loud pedal as hard as you can and no matter how stupid you think you as you head into a 40mph corner at 80 the thing just grips and grips and grips.

But... you always get a sense that the car is smarter than you are talented and that the electronics are what is keeping you in the right direction, not your driving.

Driving the GT-R did not make me want to buy one.

Microsoft takes in $60b, sells 180m Vista licenses since launch {Engadget}

2009 Acura TL shows its face, AWD confirmed {Autoblog}

Jul 11th 2008 2:57AM It does a bit but I think it makes a much better fist of it than the GS. I like the proportions and the near fastback shape, it reminds me of the Volkswagen Concept D1 that became the Phaeton.

Can't wait to see more and I'm very glad to see Acura design diverge further from Honda's. Those brands desperately need a seperate identity.

Jul 11th 2008 2:52AM I didn't like the shield grill until I saw a TSX in the metal, I think this TL looks great and finally getting SH-AWD, it's going to be quite formidable in its class.

Linksys announces WRT610N simultaneous dual-N band router {Engadget}

Engadget's farewell card to Bill G {Engadget}

Jun 28th 2008 1:44AM Bill,

Thanks for the last seven years of gainful employment. Sure the stock price never made me rich but the experience, fun, scale and excitement of the work sure has kept me interested.

Maybe I'll be looking back in another seven years and thanking Steve, maybe not. Whatever you might think about my employer you cannot deny the fact that Bill's vision came true under his tenure.

I wouldn't have stayed so long without you.

Tony
