T-Mobile G1 and Sony Ericsson X1 seen side-by-side, molten lava hangs head in shame {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 17th 2008 12:17PM I've used the X1 extensively. The only thing the X1 has going for it is its looks. Now the device is sturdy but that's expected since its actually HTC hardware, which is also the case with the G1. Don't be fooled by the techno glitter of the X1. Its still just Windows Mobile 6.1 with a set of customizable "Panels" and extra LED's which do nothing but eat up memory and battery life. In all honesty neither are as user friendly or fluid as the Iphone but if you're a device junky the G1 will be the way to go.
Handango beating Android Market to the paid app punch {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 17th 2008 12:07PM I'm sure Handango will have an extensive catalog prepared by the time the G1 is offically in the hands of T-Mobile subscribers. It'll be nice to have a device with an app store other than Apples and without hacking the device to the extent of the Iphone/Ipod Touch.
