Federico Rojas: The father of the father of Engadget {Engadget}
Jun 17th 2007 1:47PM What a beautiful tribute.
Just as you were lucky to have him as your father, he was lucky to have you as a son.
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
Safari on Windows: Your reports {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jun 11th 2007 6:19PM Very fast on Windows Vista Home Premium for me.
Did anyone else notice that in the Windows version of Safari you can choose either Yahoo or Google as your default search engine? You can't do that with the Mac version.

May 27th 2007 5:16PM From personal experience, OMiC is well worth its small price. I highly recommend it.
SOHO Notes updated to version 6 {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
May 26th 2007 7:22PM I've tried both SOHO Notes and Yojimbo. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. SOHO is more complete, which Yojimbo is quick and dirty. I just wished they had left the name of SOHO Notes as Stickybrain. Now *that* was a great name for a product.
@Shawn: While support issues are unacceptable, I see no problem with Chronos charging for the upgrade to SOHO Notes 6. Almost every other software developer charges for upgrades. It's how they pay for the development costs. To not charge would be a very bad business model.

Google maps for mobile gets GPS {Engadget Mobile}
May 24th 2007 11:48PM Yes, but it doesn't automatically go to the next direction if you're using it for directions.
Google maps for mobile gets GPS {Engadget Mobile}
May 24th 2007 8:42PM Unfortunately on the Helio Ocean the font and map size was too small to be usable. Also you had to press "next" for each new direction which was a hassle if you were trying to drive. It doesn't automatically update your location.
Now if you're looking for something slick (and free), try Nokia's Smart2Go. It works on Nokia phones and Windows Mobile although it's still a little buggy on the latter. You can get it here: http://www.smart2go.com/
