Apple, Walmart to do $99 4GB iPhone? {Engadget Mobile}

Dec 4th 2008 10:03AM That's just great. Actually it will ad a little variety to the scenery at Walmart. Picture this: outside the store you'll see a long line of people waiting to get an iPhone. Inside the store you'll see the, more established, long line of people waiting to return stuff.

iPhone 2.2 OS re-locks (some) legitimately unlocked iPhones {Engadget Mobile}

Dec 3rd 2008 8:17PM So far so good for me. I'll keep the phone, even with all the updates and the problems that come with it.

Personally, I've found almost no electronic devices of any kind that don't have some kind of problem. My iMac has worked flawlessly which is what drove me to get the iPhone in the first place. Having converted from Windows XP Pro (my first system, in 1986, ran DOS on a brand new AT&T PC6300), I've seen it all.

Things could be worse: I could be writing this on an old monochrome monitor; uploading through a 9600bd modem; and printing the output on an Okidata printer that weighs more than I do. I don't expect the iPhone to jump through hoops for me. That's what I got the iMac for. We shall se if either can meet my lowered expectations.

iPhone 2.1 update is out: bug fixes and longer battery life promised {Engadget}

Sep 12th 2008 11:17AM 2.1 definitely an improvement. Apps load and run faster. Bookmarks load and run faster. AND I get a much better 3G signal in my apartment. I used to get 1 bar inside, with app loads no different than if I switched to EDGE. Now I get 5 bars with speeds equivalent to my DSL Extreme speed!

Now I'm not saying this shouldn't have been done long ago. It should have. As a new iMac junkie, all I'm saying is that Apple rocks compared to the s&*t I went through after playing with (and building) PCs for 20+ years. Bill Gates can kiss my "apple."
