T-Mobile to offer Android handset "soon," Reuters reports {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 10th 2008 7:25PM @ Spyvie, Android is thought to be very much open and customizable. As of 3rd party apps for Android, there are already enough resources on the net, which collect such apps, e.g. my favorite http://www.android-freeware.org/ Also, Google will ship something like Apple's App Store, which is a pool of (currently only free) 3rd party apps, which are uploaded, rated and commented by other fellow Android users. With this "Android Market" you can install and uninstall apps directly from your gadget, so it also works as an application manager.
T-Mobile G1 gets SKU'd in three colors? {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 10th 2008 7:17PM Sadly, the screenshots don't reveal the prices. I think it will cost something about 400 Euro in the Europe, about 300 GBP or 500 USD. With WiFi and GPS on board. Does anyone know if there will be any application locks? This is sometimes typical for mobile operators and their branded phones. I would really like to be able to load free 3rd party apps say from http://www.android-freeware.org/ or http://code.google.com/
HTC Dream coming to T-Mobile UK in November? {Engadget Mobile}
Sep 10th 2008 7:09PM The keyboard is so ugly! I bet it's hell uncomfortable to type on it. The design is ugly as well. The device is too thick. And this should be the killer of iPhone? Guys, are you kidding? This is 100% a geek device, especially for the fat ones with aquarium-like glasses! No, no, Googie. Not this time.
Besides this, as I see there are many Android apps out there at http://www.android-freeware.org/ Does anyone know whether they will work with a real Android phone? I guess no, because they all were compiled with different SDKs! Or maybe executables are somehow compatible between each other?

Sep 10th 2008 7:07PM OK, seem that they've worked out the software UI somehow, with SDK iterations. But, doesn't people see that the hardware design of this HTC Dream is a PIECE OF CRAP? To me it looks very much like a small brick, I would say the HW design is somewhat from '80s. And this keyboard? Huh?
