Linux hits the iPhone! {Engadget}
Nov 29th 2008 5:26PM @dg - Those other "crappy OS's" have been able to run linux and android for ages now already. They also have all of the functionality of the iphone, thousands more apps, the ability to multi-task, the ability to do simple things like "cut and paste", and don't require the phone to be "hacked" to use most of these features.

Nov 21st 2008 1:21AM It's IRQL not less or equal, not IRQ more or less not equal. And it's far more often a driver problem than a hardware issue. 5mins to change an IP? Lol what are you working on? Learn to profile. I've worked on plenty of x-servers as well and even the ancient legacy ones don't take 10-15 mins to POST. There are CIM object managers and CIM listeners, but I've never heard of a CIM object listener. You're probably having issues with your event filtering, or your servers just aren't set up properly.
Apple iTunes content throwing HDCP flags on new MacBook / MacBook Pro {Engadget}
Nov 17th 2008 11:53PM *Shrug*. No need for a new display. Instead of buying iTunes content, just use pirated content on a non-apple made player instead. Problem solved. Thanks Steve for encouraging those who are fearful of pirating to try new things. I would've never learned how to rip region codes off of DVDs and how to burn region free iso's if I hadn't owned a Macbook while trying to play my legitimate DVDs that I bought while traveling. Thank you again Apple!
Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1a available for pre-order at Best Buy {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 17th 2008 1:11AM I didn't realize that manufacturing costs were the only costs involved in selling a product. I guess Sony has volunteer workers who work for free, no advertising budget, free operations, and zero distribution costs. Thanks for your valuable insight satysfyn!
You must be one of those retards who doesn't realize that subsidized prices are different from unlocked, no contract pricing. I bet you think that buying a $30,000 car that leases for $150/mo is actually $29,850 cheaper than buying it in cash. $150 sounds about right for a car. It's just metal, glass, and plastic anyway.

Nov 17th 2008 1:06AM @wako: Are you serious? I guess you can also say that a Mercedes should only cost $6000 because there are other gas powered cars that only cost $6000. At least you gave one decent comparison about the Touch Pro "at release". Guess what? This phone is "at release".

Nov 17th 2008 12:50AM Amen e-dub. Cheaper than iphone's official unlocked price by a long shot. On par with HTC Touch Pro and Nokia N series, actually a bit cheaper than their initial release unlocked no contract list pricing. For a gadget site, and especially the mobile section of a gadget site, these readers don't seem to know anything about gadgets.

Sep 3rd 2008 10:43PM Just curious, do fanboys masturbate to pictures of their favorite CEOs? You guys should try enjoying products for their quality and features as opposed to which large corporation made them. Anyway, sorry to interrupt your one-handed fun. I'll let you guys get back to your photos of Steve Jobs and Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo!
Sony Ericsson's PlayNow Arena: 1 million, DRM-free songs on Monday {Engadget}
Aug 22nd 2008 3:38AM I use itunes to browse music, then I search and buy on Amazon or other DRM free sites. I don't purchase any DRM music. It's a pain to manage, since I switch between devices so often. I don't mind paying 99 cents for a song, but if I can't find a DRM free copy for sale, I'll pirate it instead.
