There's no requirement for anyone bidding on a slice of spectrum to actually use it for anything once they got it. I suspect most bidders will simply sit on it for a few years until Rogers has enough money to buy up the company and then get hold of the extra frequency.

Jun 20th 2008 8:36PM You know shit about Symbian. It has changed more in the last 3 years then the 5 years preceeding and the rate of change is accelerating. Just because S60 looks more or less the same now as a year and half ago doesn't mean it's all the same under the hood. Your statement is as factual as saying Windows95 and Windows2000 are the same since they both have a 'start' button.

Oct 18th 2006 12:33PM Don't worry alex. Making your own UI for Symbian would not only break most applications (both UIQ and S60) but also make Cingular a defacto Symbian licensee with their own variant.
Not to mention it's a non trivial affair to do that.
