Motorola DROID first hands-on! (update: video, impressions, more pics) {Engadget}
Oct 28th 2009 11:59AM It really is easy to damage the screen, so you just have to be careful or get a case for it (rubber, silicon, etc.) and a screen protector. i scratched up my diamond pretty badly one of the first days I had it by simply putting it in my pocket. The screen was facing towards me and there was a rivet on my jeans right above my pocket. Big scratch.
Also, I was at my nephews birthday party at a bowling alley. My phone was in my pocket. After the party, I took out my phone and saw that I'd cracked the back cover. I must have rested the bowling ball against myself or maybe while swinging. Thankfully it was just the battery cover and not the screen!
Moral of the story, be careful and take precautions right away.

Samsung Moment slider coming to Sprint, packing Android (update: official, $179) {Engadget}
Oct 7th 2009 5:32PM No, there's no restocking fee. During the first 30 days, you can exchange it for any other device (assuming you haven't trashed the original one). I think they only allow you to do so twice, though maybe three is the limit. I've done this in the past with my Diamond.
On second thought, maybe there is a restocking fee, but only if you're returning the phone and not getting a different one. If you're simply exchanging one phone for another, no restocking fee.
Samsung Moment slider coming to Sprint, packing Android (update: official, $179) {Engadget}
Oct 7th 2009 3:36PM Good point, Gavin! I was thinking I'd hold off on getting the Hero, but you're right. Sprint gives you 30 days to test out the phone. I guess Hero plans are back on (in a few days).

Oct 7th 2009 2:52PM The specs are posted over here:
http://www.slashgear.com/sprint-samsung-moment-announced-amoled-android-smartphone-0759564/
For size comparison purposes:
Sprint HTC Hero
4.46 x 2.22 x 0.54 inches; weight 4.5 oz.
Samsung Moment
4.6 x 2.34 x 0.63 inches; weight 5.67 oz.
Seems pretty slim considering the inclusion of the slide-out qwerty keyboard. Gotta check this out in person though.

Oct 7th 2009 12:43PM Now the hand wringing begins... HTC's Hero or hold off for Samsung's Moment. I guess it depends how fast they bring it to market. I could wait a few weeks, though if they say something like, "by the end of the year", who knows. Decisions, decisions...
Cellular South scoops up Sprint-spec Hero {Engadget}
Sep 22nd 2009 8:23AM The CellSouth site is great. Clean and uncluttered, but still provides lots of info. Like that demo for instance. I'm not sure I'd seen it before (though it must be old considering the calendar shows the Hero launch date in May 2009), but it was great. I'm excited to get my hands on the phone in a couple weeks.
HTC Hero heading to Sprint October 11th for $179.99, no chin in sight (update: exclusive to Sprint) {Engadget}
Sep 3rd 2009 11:59AM I know the chin was a love it or hate it sort of thing, but I miss the white teflon. It looked sexy. This really does look bland to me and too similar to the original HTC Touch. Hopefully it looks better in person.

Roku Video player now streaming live HD baseball games from MLB.TV {Engadget}
Aug 11th 2009 9:55AM NFL Sunday Ticket would be amazing. Just canceled my cable and have been slowly sorting my options...over the air HD (which looks great btw), Hulu and Netflix via HDMI from my PC, etc. Sports (and NFL in particular) is the one thing that hurts to miss out on. We'll see how it goes once the regular season starts... Too bad about the Netflix exclusive deal with Microsoft! I was really hoping it'd come to the PS3 soon. I guess Roku is the next best thing.
