Acer Aspire One gets reviewed, lost in the shuffle {Engadget}
Jul 18th 2008 11:44AM The 3 cell that comes with this thing is lasting me 3 hours.. pretty decent for any laptop's base battery never mind a netbook.
As for the gripes on keyboard and mouse... guess what all netbooks have the same issues... less space... don't like it then I recommend a full size laptop. The one is very speedy with the included linpus linux which is very customizable once you enable the right click menu for linpus.
***From the acer desktop click on the arrow to expand Files then choose the icon called "My Files" (this is a file explorer) once open click on "File" then on "Terminal" from with in the terminal program type the following command without the quotes.
"xfce-setting-show"
Click Desktop to get to the Preferencs for the desktop and choose the Behavior tab. Now select the radio button for Show desktop menu on right click option and close the window.***

HTC Victor gets de-glitzed, unboxed {Engadget Mobile}
Jul 17th 2008 12:27PM yeah I'm thinking the code name victor is just to reference the difference from the gsm version... you might note that the unboxing has diamond writen all over it.
Walt Mossberg reviews the iPhone 3G, isn't that impressed (now with more David Pogue and Ed Baig!) {Engadget}

WWDC 2008 coverage roundup: the iPhone 3G has landed {Engadget}

I'm use to using smaller phones with as much ability if not more.
Size is very important to me, and I can only assume now that the greed has subsided a bit (no more revenue sharing) that Rogers will finally pick it up. I would consider using this phone but I can't see it as my day to day phone.
As for the BG processes, if you don't like switching tasks then you can close your program. It's simple and you get choice, what's bad about that?
as it is now you want to purchase something online you open your ewallet and copy the card holder name into your browser go back to the ewallet oh wait it closed when I went to the browser. I'm sorry it's just stupid.
Symbian has task switching WinMo has task switching Linux has task switching, palm is going this route with it's yet to be released OS.
And for christs sakes can we please get a matte finish on a frigging phone. I love my Diamond by jeezes and Steve doesn't disappoint those who prefer to wipe their phone on their pants then apply makeup...
The pricing of this phone is going to make it a big item everywhere and will be the perfect phone for a lot of people. But for people like myself I need:
smaller (atleast reduce the screen to 3" and the body to match it)
matte finish (everyone looks like a super model)
and BG processes! It's a shame you have to rely on the hack community to get these devices where they should be in the first place.
WWDC 2008 coverage roundup: the iPhone 3G has landed {Engadget}
Jun 10th 2008 12:31AM I was disappointed. Good price 3G for me is not a biggie I was seriously hoping this device would be put on a diet... It's a bit bigger.
No background processes, just some bs and lets bash MS about their bg processes yet I guess exchange activesync is good enough to license.
HTC Touch Diamond boot video, for your eyes only {Engadget}
Jun 6th 2008 7:13PM @ zak
I like the ignorance based upon the video... the one by one email is only a preview, you still have an inbox. And out of the box you can exchange push or windows Live. I hear that steve is licensing exchange ;P
HTC Touch Diamond boot video, for your eyes only {Engadget}
Jun 6th 2008 4:31PM Got mine on the 4th, stopped the video. why because this is so well thought out and intuitive you just don't need it... if your new to handheld computers that have phones in them then the video may help.
Apple has a Wiimote-type Apple TV controller in the works? We wish. {Engadget}
May 8th 2008 12:30PM This patent should be set ablaze and left to rot.
the only difference I see in the description is the potential wired aspect other wise this is Nintendo's patent...
Oh lord Steve thank you for always blessing us with your stolen ideas...
and the list is long... remember Creative patents... yes apple made a better player at the time but it was still stealing... just pay the damned royalties!
