AT&T responds to Verizon's 3G ad campaign -- by bragging about EDGE {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 13th 2009 12:12PM AT&T IS AN OLD SLOW NETWORK WITHOUT THE SPEED WE NEED IN TODAY'S DEVICES. THEY SUE WHEN THEY SHOULD BE PUTTING THEIR PROFITS INTO THEIR INFRASTRUCTURE.
I GOTTA GIVE IT TO ATT'S MARKETING GROUP-- THEY HAVE ARGUABLY THE WORST NETWORK, SOMEHOW MANAGED TO GET THE IPHONE, AND TO TOP IT OFF THEY ARE THE MOST EXPENSIVE CARRIER OUT!
I HAVE MORE RESPECT FOR T-MOBILE AS THEY HAVE A DATED NETWORK AND ACKNOWLEDGE IT WITH REASONABLE PRICING.
ONE MORE COMMENT -- YOU KNOW THE WORLD IS A CRAZY PLACE WHEN SPRINT WHO HAS ARGUABLY A GREAT COVERAGE/DATA SPEED NETWORK AND CAN'T MAKE A PROFIT. SOME OF US HERE WILL EVEN SLAM SPRINT-- DOESN'T MAKE SENSE WHEN THEY SURELY HAVE A BETTER NETWORK/COVERAGE DATA SPEEDS FOR MOST OF US THAN ATT, TMOBILE--- AND TOP IT OFF THEY PUT LARGE AMOUNTS OF CASH BACK IN OUR POCKETS EACH MONTH.--AND NOW EVEN HAVE GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.
YOU WANT TO SEE A BETTER WORLD?! HERE IS THE ANSWER: AN IPHONE ON THE SPRINT NETWORK. BETTER YET, APPLE IN ALL THEIR VISION FORESEEING A NEED FOR THEIR OWN NETWORK AND PURCHASING SPRINT FOR A STEAL!
WE KNOW WIMAX TO LTE IS NOT COST PROHIBITIVE, AND MAINLY SOFTWARE TWEEKS-- MAKE THE PURCHASE APPLE! GET YOUR OWN GREAT NETWORK FOR A STEAL AND BRING YOUR CUSTOMER/BUSINESS PHILOSOPHY TO SPRINTS NETWORK FOR YOUR SUPERIOR PRODUCTS!
UNTIL THEN, I'LL BE SATISFIED WITH RUMORS THE IPHONE IS COMING TO VERIZON :)
Palm Pre review {Engadget}
Jun 3rd 2009 11:13PM I think its great that engadget finally showed us the breakdown of the finances and the amount of money saved using the Sprint Network. Sprint offers more network speed and coverage in Michigan than the others and no matter what anybody wants to argue-- going with sprint saves close to $2000 over a 2 year contract period. Can anyone honestly be such a sprint hater with savings that large. Sprint has improved bigtime in the last couple years --even winning best customer services this past year. STOP DOWNING SPRINT. I HAVE USED HIGH END PHONES FROM EVERY CARRIER AND I CAN SAY WITHOUT A DOUBT: I ALWAYS COME BACK TO SPRINT. I don't quite get the logic. The only down side I see to sprint is if somebody truly ( I mean truly) lives in a state that does not have good sprint coverage..... I travel the states quite a bit and have yet to see my coverage wain on my sprint phone. One last example: Last year my wife and I drove back from Florida to Michigan-- ( I have an iphone and my wife has a sprint instinct) --- No Joke, I was embarrassed as I was in love with my iphone, ---my wife gave me all kinds of shots as I kept having to use her sprint phone as it had the better coverage. For you true world travelers stick with GSM--- a huge percentage of us never leave the states and when we do its usually on a cruise to the Caribbean or similar and #1 Sprint still works, and #2 we don't care to be on the phone anyway.

Sprint launches push-to-talk BlackBerry Curve 8350i {Engadget Mobile}
Dec 20th 2008 5:57PM Hey there. Purchased mine from sprint over the phone and had it in a day. I've had all kinds of phones and this truly may be the best phone/pda I've had yet. Switched off of the iphone/att as my monthly bill was just under $160 per month. This nextel blackberry is a great/powerful phone. It's a home run and also costs me only $99/month. The only thing better would be the same phone w/ voice on sprint w/ a ptt on nextel. Great job Sprint! These are the phones that will ensure your great future!
Nextel's new BlackBerry: the Curve 8350? {Engadget Mobile}
Aug 16th 2008 12:58AM I truly can’t believe Sprint has not put a single ounce of energy to capitalize on one of its true strengths in purchasing nextel= Competitive Advantage–that is to say after much time have not brought to market a pda phone w/ push-to-talk. Sprints voice service is strong here in Metro Detroit along w/ Nextel (and yes I know that nextel is an older network) . I truly believe Sprint has taken a bad rap on overall business, but I am going to have to jump on the band wagon here and say how disappointing it is that Sprint does not have the insight to capitalize on one of it’s core competencies since purchasing nextel– that new advantage was supposed to be push to talk along w/ sprint high speed voice/data network. I can’t believe this new 8350 is not even a hybrid. Come on Sprint, because of your lack of action, foresight, whatever you want to call it–you have let nextels ptt slip slowly into our distant memories. Never thought I’d see the day Verizon & AT&T would even get a foot in the door on Push-to-Talk. Sprint! You’ve got the right plans, now capitalize on bring the best of nextel (PTT) to more sprint based phones–especially smartphones/pda’s. Sprint is still my favorite network, but I had to leave it for the iphone3g (by the way, att’s 3G doesn’t come close to sprints high speed performance & consistency)–never the less I stick w/ att & a $160 phone bill because the Sam.Instinct is great, but not great enough to replace the iphone—–BUT, You know what?! A Samsung Instinct, Rim Blackberry, Motorola Q, HTC pda that came with Qchat/Nextel PTT button hands down would have my iphone up on Craigslist in minutes. Sprint! Use the cards you were dealt when you purchased Nextel–Play w/ a full deck! —final thought–if not then sell to T-mobile! (Talk about a company that’s maximized/created competitive advantages out of thin air! They don’t even have 3G, but have capitalized on UMA over Wifi Technology and somehow managed to be an industry changer in landlines offering its landlines @ $10.00 unlimited/month)–not to mention they market in Pink! (ok, I’m rambling, forget that last pink statement–I’m sure women love it)
