Rogers announcing new data plans, peace of mind in October {Engadget Mobile}
Aug 29th 2008 4:20PM Too little too late as far as I am concerned. Bell and Telus have a pile of nice phones with data plans that are all unlimited and the monthly fee is from $7 to $30 depending on the device.
I was displeased with the overall value of the iPhone and VERY displeased with the data rates so on iPhone day, I left Rogers and switched to Bell and got an HTC Touch for $0. Now that the WM 6.1 update is out, it is an amazing device that I am VERY pleased to have picked up.
Video: MIT develops solar storage "nirvana": energy crisis solved? {Engadget}
Aug 1st 2008 5:01AM The trick to all of this is, as has been pointed out, that they are doing the electrolysis in a much simpler and less expensive way. Before this, you had to purify the water and pay for a very expensive electrolyzer system.
With this and a hydrogen storage system, you end up with what is effectively a very big rechargeable battery. From there, you can use the gas in whatever way is most efficient, be that making electricity or burning the gas to make heat.
The only part of the whole system they propose that is a real problem is the cost of the fuel cell.
