DROID tethering? It's coming early 2010, says Verizon {Engadget}
Nov 4th 2009 3:14AM I just dont get it.
Engadget are trying SO hard to build up hype with articles upon articles and comments such as this "We're pretty sure that missing functionality won't be lessening the early adopter crowds too much". Its almost funny how hard they are trying to get people interested.
Perhaps im just a negative nancy but although the DROID looks like a nice device its just not worth all the attention Engadget are giving it. Other manufacturers are releasing devices just as good if not better and they arent getting half the attention.
I just dont get it...

Nov 3rd 2009 11:09AM Urk could it be any uglier.
You know white wouldnt look that bad..but dont half ass it. Keep the red accents and make the rest ALL white. Then it would be sexy.
Android 2.0 ported to original T-Mobile G1 (video) {Engadget}
Oct 30th 2009 6:01AM Urk.
It shouldnt even be a question wether your device will be updated to 2.0 or not. ALL Android devices should be supported until the updates become useless because the devices lack the hardware to support it.
Google has REALLY dropped the ball on this one. One area where WinMo is shocking as well.
I was really into the XDA scene when i had my HTC Cruise but OFFICIAL updates would of been much better. I think i only got one official update from HTC and it updated nothing.

Black Nintendo Wii bundle listed on Amazon UK for £164.99 {Engadget}
Oct 27th 2009 5:05AM Its amazing that a simple colour change can ramp up sales. Silly people...the Wii is absurdly underpowered with lackluster controls and a disheartening library of sub par party games.
It honestly has no redeeming feature, online play is basic to say the least, it doesnt stream media easily and the motion controls are gimmicky at best.
I had one for a year...worst thing ever. Lets hope the next generation Wii is better.
Apple patent application reveals ad-supported OS, desktop Armageddon {Engadget}
Oct 22nd 2009 5:28AM I believe they did that in the late 90's. People could get a free computer if they were ok with a walled in internet experience and bombarded with advertisements.
Needless to say it didnt work out :-P
Apple patent application reveals ad-supported OS, desktop Armageddon {Engadget}
Oct 22nd 2009 5:27AM Thats what i thought. Very un-Apple. They are a premium brand and using ads would thoroughly cheapen their image.
I dont think they will do this for MANY years. You can certainly expect other brands to implement it before Apple.
This will obviously provide some bad PR for Apple. Even if they never end up doing it, people will *think* they are and get in a huff.

Oct 22nd 2009 5:24AM Not at all. Thats why we have advertisements on tv and radio and the internet. People would rather have something for free with advertisements.
