Apple will spend $4 million to renovate Chicago's North/Halsted triangle {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 27th 2009 6:00PM I think "Infinite Loop" would be an awesome name for that station. ;-)

Snow Leopard is the top Amazon pre-order {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 4th 2009 7:51AM I saw Windows 7 (I almost wrote "System 7" there, must be an old trauma) last weekend on a windows developer friend's system, running in VMWare. I wasn't in the least impressed, except for the much improved installation process.

Windows 7 looks like Windows 3.1 in watercolors to me. Ugly as hell.

I'll stick to trusted XP for the 1 system that needs to run Windows in my house. For the other systems, I can't wait for Snow Leopard to arrive.

TUAW Poll: When will Mac OS X 10.5.8 be released? {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jul 29th 2009 8:40AM I'm keeping tabs on all those developer seeds, but I must have missed one announcement. What was the build number of "the previous build [that] was pushed to developers only five days earlier"?

3.0 firmware release expected at 10am PT/1pm ET, quick Terminal tip to check {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jun 17th 2009 12:07PM By the way, it *IS* June 18th now in Singapore. Don't get all worked up though, it will be for a couple more hours ;-)

Jun 17th 2009 12:01PM Hmmm, I'm finding it difficult to believe that so many people have problems with the concept of time zones. I've been hearing this nonsense on Twitter all day. There is no delay. NO delay, okay? At the time Apple (Cupertino) happens to release the upgrade (presumably at 10:00 AM PDT) it will be past midnight (i.e. June 18th) in some part of the world starting with Singapore and extending all the way to Melbourne, New Zealand. Why is that so difficult to grasp?

May 5th 2009 10:02AM Respect is a mutual thing, between humans. You get it 1) when you deserve it on objective grounds and 2) when you reciprocate it. What goes around comes around, I guess.

iPhone 3G rolling worldwide, Russia coming soon {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Aug 22nd 2008 3:31PM I went and bought the iPhone 3G in Iraklio, Crete, Greece this morning. The plan includes 100 minutes talk time, 150 outgoing SMS messages, 500MB data transfer for 35€/month. This is the most basic package. For the iPhone itself I paid 317€, due to the fact that I have accumulated credit over the past year as a Vodafone customer. More details of the somewhat kafkaesque purchasing process at http://www.oriste.com/2008/08/22/iphone-3g-lands-in-greece
