Jul 30th 2009 1:00AM So, apps like Skype, TextFree etc, which allow calling, integrate a keypad/dialer, allow you to send and receive SMS are legit, but if Google Voice incorporates a keypad/dialer AND an SMS interface, it's against the rules??
Sounds kind of counter-productive, don't you think?? As it is, the iPhone's inability to allow multitasking applications hurts apps like Google Voice and Skype a lot. Since the apps are not running in the backgrounds, you don't get instant notifications of incoming voice calls, and you have to the app running at all times!
I haven't yet upgraded to v3.0, so I don't know if this is the scenario still exists on the newest version of the OS and whether the Push Notifications help alleviate any of these problems. I'd appreciate it if someone can tell me whether v3.0 allows you to receive notifications of incoming calls on Skype, but I doubt it!
I also have an Android device, and I receive all notifications on that device without any problems, and I love the phone for it! Seriously, I am starting to believe that if you want functionality, use Android, and if you want style, use the iPhone!
I am aghast at Apple's (and AT&T's) stand on the Google Voice Apps. It's just unfortunate that iPhone users have to suffer while everyone else (including other Blackberry/Symbian etc) users can continue to use SIP and VOIP apps on their devices while they're using the AT&T network!
Why are you guys paying the iPhone premium tax anyway??

I've had a first and second gen Zune, and I've been happy with both of them. The first gen is now used by my kid-brother and it still gives him awesome battery life. The second gen Zune is my primary portable music device, used at the gym and in the car. Awesome battery life, and very good sound! I have no complaints, whatsoever!
As robby2009 mentioned before me, there seems to be just one button there, so I'm guessing that it'll be a touch device! (Speculating that this is indeed an authentic picture)
I'm assuming MS might be integrating this tighter with their other services and maybe we might see direct podcast and music downloads over WiFi in the next version of the Zune.
I'm expecting the screen to be 800x480 because of their "HD" moniker. Not true HD, I know, but then a lot of devices (HTC Touch HD - 480x800, OmniaHD - 360×640) have already used the "HD" tag for devices that aren't truly HD. I'll give MS a pass on that gaffe since a lot of others have done the same, if it is true, of course!
Sounds like things might be getting exciting in the Social!

In India, a car wears out a lot quicker than in most other places (US, Europe, Japan etc) largely because of the poor roads, traffic and the rough driving style. Also, most people don't let go of their cars for a long time. The second-hand car market in India is pretty weak.

This car is priced at the same level as most local luxury (or high-end, if you prefer) bikes. Of course, I'm not talking about Harleys and Ducatis and what-not, but about made-for-India and made-in-India bikes. So if you can get a four-wheeler vehicle that cocoons you from the harsh traffic and provides better safety than what the high-end bike could at the same price, people don't mind paying their hard-earned cash for it. It's just a practical vehicle.
The economics and sensibilities in India are different from most of the developed world. People are looking for practicality over luxury (except for the brats), and this car fits the bill for the masses, and that's who it's targeting!

Seriously, this is the dumbest thing I've heard in a while! This is just another way of ensuring that the consumers buy Apple's overpriced, under-performing headsets! Just call it what it is in the harshest tone you can find: "This is a really dumb idea that alienates all those who have premium headphones, and need only the discrete usability of the iPod Shuffle."
Apple's adapters (I have two of them for my Macbook Pro, a DVI-VGA and DVI-Composite/S-Video) can be nice, but they are pricey! Luxury products? huh?

So, he's a pretty distinguished person. But seriously, becoming an MCP in India is (now, literally) child's play! All you need is a set of questions that you can memorize. It's all a question of memory. I don't know how much she understood of the test she took! Memorizing something is totally different from understanding something.
