Sep 26th 2009 9:51PM No it's not! My MMS has not worked since I installed the carrier update. I've shut my phone off like 10 times. I've even backed up and reset my phone. Nada. When I call AT&T, they are determined that it is something with my phone because I can receive MMS, but I can't send them. They can't figure it out. AT&T is horrible.

Aug 1st 2009 9:45PM It's going to be more than just Detroit that get VZW's LTE. Even rural areas of the state and country will be getting it pretty quickly. I don't even think AT&T will have 3G in my area of Michigan by the time VZW gets LTE here.

Aug 1st 2009 4:46PM And still nothing announced for Michigan. Like Detroit or Grand Rapids? Hello. We always get the short end of the stick. Another major city left out of these announcements is L.A. You know, only the second largest city in the country. Why are they focusing on such medium-sized cities first instead of the major ones? Weird.

Jul 23rd 2009 11:15PM I live in the Thumb, and AT&T's coverage is something to be desired. There is no 3G coverage at all around here nor is there any in Saginaw or Bay City. For them being such big cities, it's strange that they still don't have 3G and that they themselves lack from good coverage. I just can't believe how much better Verizon is at covering Mid-Michigan and areas north compared to AT&T.

Jul 23rd 2009 6:31PM Good. I can't wait. AT&T's service is abysmal around my area of Michigan. My iPhone hardly ever can make calls and when it does, they are distorted most of the time. Verizon works perfectly anywhere and everywhere in Michigan. Give it up AT&T!

Jun 19th 2009 10:31AM I spend like $170 a month for my plan but I have two lines. So I wonder if they would allow for that. The thing is, the cheapest plan with AT&T for FamilyTalk is $60 and then when you add the data that's another $60 for the two lines. That's already $120 before you even add texting. So with Family Unlimited Text, that's another $30 for a grand total of $150 plus tax.
But, I must say that they've gotta do something about those three year contracts up there in Canada. I can barely stand a two year contract and sometimes I wish I only had a one year. But three years! Wow!

Mar 10th 2009 1:21PM That's quite pricey for a phone. But, since MetroPCS is a prepay carrier, it may be worth it in the long run if you're trying to cut back on costs per month but still would like a data-centric phone.
But, correct me if I'm wrong, but I do not believe that MetroPCS' network is EV-DO yet. I believe that most if not all areas are 1X. So, this phone will be severely limited if it cannot access EV-DO speeds.

Dec 12th 2008 2:48PM I think part of MetroPCS' growth can be contributed to their expansion into new markets. For instance, here in Michigan, they've expanded past their old Metro Detroit market and moved up into Lansing, Flint, Saginaw, Bay City, Midland, and some other smaller communities. These are some economically depressed areas with large African-American populations that might normally use companies like Nextel or BoostMobile. It's a perfect opportunity to move up here to reach these neighborhoods and gain some more subscribers. Especially because MetroPCS offers unlimited everything for only $50 a month.

Dec 5th 2008 2:12PM This is just amazing. So, out of all American cell phone users, 82% of them don't even text message. I guess I can see that. But the remaining 18% of users who use text messaging account for THAT many messages!? Enough to be double what Europe does? That's very very amazing.

Nov 8th 2008 7:44PM Well, AT&T wants to fill in more areas with "their" coverage so that AT&T subscribers don't roam as much. Also the reason why T-Mobile didn't acquire it is because it's a predominantly 850 MHz carrier and T-Mobile is almost fully 1900 MHz. So, it would be an issue for T-Mobile customers who only have PCS-only phones.
