Rogers' regular sized BlackBerry Bold gets priced: $399.99 on a 3-year contract {Engadget Mobile}
Aug 17th 2008 9:39AM $399 is pretty steep, but is still a very large market of people who will not make the jump to iPhone and are willing to pay ~400 to get this thing. It's all about the market folks. I think a lot of people forget Rogers is a business not a charity. If you were a business and could sell the Bold @ $400, and your customers were willing to pay to have such a device, why would you not? Of course, if sales are low, they've obviously not priced it accordingly, and prices will be slashed. End of story.
You can upgrade on Rogers every 12 months, which if I do my math correctly, allows you to get a new phone sooner than on AT&T. I personally get a new one every year, and the thought of actually having to wait 18 months for a new subsidized phone makes me ill. =)
