Samsung bringing the Instinct to Canada next {Engadget}

Jul 3rd 2008 3:18PM completely and totally agree

however the pricing really isn't likely to be getting any better. the three year plans are here to stay, sadly, and extra features are going to be even more extra as can be seen by the future incoming SMS charges.

on the upside, data seems to be getting a little more reasonable, but only past 300MB (what happened to those $5/$10 5MB/10MB plans, they were great!), and now we are getting decent phones in a relatively timely manner, mind you smart phone selection is still crap (especially symbian)

Jul 3rd 2008 1:12PM That would make sense seeing as how Bell and Telus share everything down to their laundry....

Samsung bringing the Instinct to Canada next {Engadget}

Jul 3rd 2008 1:11PM You know, I've worked at The Source dealing with Rogers activations. The kicker is my location was right next to a Telus mobility booth (we could see the entire booth from any part of the store), and I've had plenty of customers coming from Telus, angry at the poor quality of customer service and horrible reception. I even had a Telus employee who gets his phone completely free sign a contract with Rogers just to make a point of how horrible Telus is.

I've been with rogers for 5-6 years now and while I've had some quarrels with them, they always resolved my issues and the reception is better than any I've tested.

I live out in Vancouver, so maybe the quality differences are based on geography?

Fido fetches Nokia's simplistic 3500 {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 20th 2008 12:15PM Yeah, I saw that on their website... Think someone should call corporate and smack them upside the head? Or just buy the phone and sue them for false advertising...

(for those who don't know what I'm talking about: http://www.fido.ca/portal/product/handsetdetail.jsp?id=nokia_3500&lang=en&cat=1)

Fido and Rogers both nabbing the iPhone in Canada {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 13th 2008 1:08PM yes, that silhouette is indeed supposed to be the iPhone 3G... sad

The thing with the 3-year contract, however, is that you don't have to wait the full term in order to get a decent price on an upgrade. Especially for people that spend over $60 a month and get large add-on packages.

Anyone know how much the data package is going to cost and what its going to offer? (the current package offers unlimited browsing... on a Rogers-branded WAP broswer!!!! :@ :@ :@ )

PS: the ad went up on the website just as the announcement was made (I swear they had somebody listening)

So, are you gonna get an iPhone 3G? {Engadget}

Jun 10th 2008 11:34AM Oh I know that Rogers needs a good amount of competition, and that Bell and Telus plans aren't enough of a competition as they are CDMA, but I meant that the demand for the N95 will drop, the price will go with it, and I will get myself my very own N95.

So, are you gonna get an iPhone 3G? {Engadget}

Jun 9th 2008 7:02PM I dunno about you guys, but I'm going to wait until Rogers releases the iPhone with some killer deals and all the other phones (like N95 8GB) fall in price... With half the people walking around with an iPhone in their hand, I would prefer to be the "exclusive" owner of an N95.

Mind you I'm not sure when Rogers is going to start selling them... I know Steve said Jun 11th, but every single rumor I've heard so far pointed to December... Could there be two releases? :S

Nokia N78 for North America hands-on {Engadget}

Jun 5th 2008 4:59PM I posted this on the mobile engadget, but it looks like there's a lot more comments on here...

Does anyone know whether N78 has an accelerometer?
I am debating between N95 8GB, N82 and N78 and can't seem to decide.

Also, how different is S60 3.2 vs. 3.1?

Thanks very much in advance!!!!
