iPhoneSIMfree begins fulfilling bulk orders, apparently will not unlock end users' phones {Engadget}
Sep 4th 2007 1:03AM I'm a little dismayed by the news, but am staying pretty optimistic. Although I do live in Toronto, I won't parallel the earlier tirade. This does smell a little fishy and hope that this foul smell will clear in the next few days. I'lm just a little shocked that these guys have not been more transparent with the release of teh product - as in assurance that they are not taking the $$ and running for the internet borders.
And, I'm pretty sure that Apple could care less about this and other unlocking methods. Sure they certainly demonstrated to ATnT that the phone was hard enough to unlock and that the 5 yr contract had some worth, but man - 1nce you get 1/2 MAC the developping world on one project, this is bound to happen.
And another note: buying this iPhone must have been easier than buying pack of gum. I asked if they had any stock, the staffer said yes. Asked if I wanted 4 or 8. And that was it. Asked me no questions @ all. And this was well an after the news of the hack. On top of that, he stared @ my ID and obviously knew I was not from the area. So, Apple cannot be mad @ this @ all.

Jun 21st 2006 1:25PM I'll be there for the opening to consumers. Wonder if they'll be a lineup @ all, à la Apple?? Doubt it, but who knows?? Plan to see it 1st hand. Yes. Pricing will be key, selection, but as well, I just want to know if they'll be able to service phones on the spot (like flashing etc...) like Apple retail doors. Lastly, will there be knowledgeable staff, or just retail clowns?? Anyhow, great shots! looking fwd to this visit.
