Microsoft's beta My Phone service for Windows Mobile now free to all {Engadget}

May 19th 2009 1:52PM @Tonicboy

I'm sorry, did I offend? I'm afraid I can't apologise for my appreciation in aesthetics and logic - attributes of taste that don't cost anything and are certainly not Apple-branded.

MS are a confused, flapping, scared company, poorly marketing terrible jangly products to the wrong audience. Trying to push WinMo on to young people more interested in OSX, Android and even BlackBerry for their media and email/messaging communication kicks is as ridiculous as big ass coffee tables that need keyboards to setup, a motto that doesn't make any sense (a life without walls = no windows, tool), consoles that scratch games and overheat, a desktop OS that users paid to AVOID and uninstall... man I could go on.

MS are a circus of a company, and if you can't see the sickening hilarity in their products or services, I hope employer got a receipt when he hired you.

May 19th 2009 4:55AM Hur hur... Yeah paying for things is DUMB.

... jackass. MobileMe is not without it's share of problems but MS' 'me too!' philosophy of tugging at Apple's trouser leg like an enfant terrible is hardly competition... especially on a WinMo device, which are about as appealing to the consumer audience as Ebola on toast. Power users operate on Exchange.

It always amuses me how the Im A PC crowd value free/cheap solutions to everything - no matter the quality of experience or service.

CB2 "Child Robot" returns: smarter, creepier than ever {Engadget}

Apr 6th 2009 3:55PM Congratulations, you've taken a light hearted casual comment on a tech blog as a stage to gift your superior knowlege to the world. Because superior intellect needs to be expressed, at every opportunity, to prove your intellect on the internet to those who give a damn.

Bravo, *golf claps*, bravo.

Apr 6th 2009 3:30AM Um, art usually has multiple facets to contend. If perhaps you've missed the darker themes, I seriously recommend re-reading his work with a wide-angle lens on.

Christ, it's always like this with engadget commenters.

"Well 'actually'... *snort*..."

Feb 26th 2009 12:05PM @Desterado...

You miss my point by a mile, and then some. I'm not bothered about q3 specifically, more about the application of mobile massivley multiplayer gaming... That's the 'game' I'm talking about... *sigh*... must remember to iterate myself more simply for those who interperate too literally...

And yes, it's a poor service, currently. Probably why it's called a BETA and is free...

Feb 25th 2009 9:17PM ....and it's really not worth it. An hour's wait to play a poorly rendered port of Q3? The benefits to experiencing this from any PC anywhere really doesn't outweigh the sheer tedium of it all. I'm not stuck in a late 90's timewarp, thanks, so I think I'll pass.

Roll on quakelive on iPhone... That's where the game should be at. If Carmack isn't on to this already... well, he ought to be.
