Aug 18th 2008 3:37PM I think he was refering to the iPhone OSX OS being more "stable" than MS windows mobile OS and indeed it WAS...untill 2.0 and 2.0.1 came around. Personally I usually consider myself an Apple fanboy at times, (don't EVER dis the 360 though or you finna be dead =P) but the whole iPhone 3G, MobileMe, "2.0" shebang from Apple was poorly constructed and il-planned. The issues that so many users are having and haven't had restitution for is just un-needed; and considering how many fanboys there are out there, I would be ashamed to be a fanboy to say the least, until apple comes along with something better anyway. But all devices/software have their moments and we just have to wait. I mean waiting on Windows Mobile and look how far its come along, granted alot to go but still...
However, I do think apple will create a better OS after windows mobile 7 because just like MS "copies" from Apple, Apple copies from MS. And eventually, it will show on the iPhone's OS during one of the updates that come along every 3 weeks; something that MS should do with Windows Mobile (referring to the updating). But for now, I say the iPhones OS is on the same level as the WinMo OS is for several reasons, but in some cases is below it (Wheres the MMS/Cut-Paste/Flash Apple?!?!?! I paid how much for this phone and it doesnt have these features why???)
Sidekick Slide discontinued {Engadget Mobile}

but either way, I think that the slide was probably the best out of all the sidekicks. Not to thick, not to long, better call quality than the previous models. Though I still hated the software, the hardware was decent. Personally, I've got an iPhone, but a friend of mine thoroughly enjoys his sidekick, and I do to from time to time =P

Aug 7th 2008 8:20PM and AT&T hasnt done this why?... i mean cmon, in my hometown its like one half is 3G and the other is EDGE. And I'm right outisde of Chicago! I need better coverage too but all in all the 3 to 4 bars I usually get , though with gen 1 it was 5 or none all the time, isnt too bad...I guess. Still, we need better coverage and more 3G availibility on the iPhone 3G.

GSM isnt UTMS, its HSUPA/HSPA/HSDPA. CDMA in foreign countries is UTMS, but i dont know if in the US EV-DO is considered UTMS or not.

Also even though your on Rodgers, (which IMO is ironic that their owned in majority by AT&T here in the US), you should still be able to get the update since the updates are pushed through Apples servers and not through Rodgers. Plus, those European countries that received the iPhone Gen 1, they were able to update and were running on T-Mobile, Vodafone or O2. So I see no reason why you shouldn't get the update.

Jun 30th 2008 11:53AM If you ask me, European owned or not, the fact that here in the US were so far behind the 3G trail to begin with, I dont think that International influence will help much if at all. T-mobile for instance, T-mobile American not even offering mobile broadband services of any kind whereas T-mobile UK offers all sorts those kinds of services. My point is that even with international influence, the chance that the US will catch up to Europe in the mobile advancements period will be a longshot. Besides, as the supports of LTE have already said, with Verizon being among them, LTE wont be ready for atleast 3 years to come.
As far as world-compatabile goes, for that to happen, we here in the US would need to adopt the 2100mhz spectrum of 3G wireless if your looking to gain all around world compatabile.
