Apple orders 50 million iPhone NAND chips from Samsung, rest of world put on hold? {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 2nd 2008 10:08PM @The1 - How is this different than getting ANY OTHER PDA ON AT&T? For my Tilt, it was $39 for unlimited data PLUS $19 for unlimited text messaging! So since its like this for other PDAs on AT&T why single out the iPhone saying they are ripping you off? Its just $39 PERIOD for unlimited data. And no, that does not include text messaging, but that is no different than the way IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN.

Jul 2nd 2008 11:27AM You are either a new employee at AT&T or are not in the know. With the iPhone 3G, you can use your normal plan with the added $39 iphone data plan which gives you unlimited data. So I have no idea what your talking about by jacked up phone plans. The data IS $10 more for the 3G at $39 a month. But that is what everyone pays for unlimited data on PDAs and Blackberry units anyways. So now us iPhone users will pay just as much as everyone else. We are not getting ripped off.

Refurbished iPhones are an excellent source of previous users' data {Engadget Mobile}

May 20th 2008 7:44PM Ummmmmm how is this news? I don't know of ANY ... ANY smartphone that does a proper wipe of data. Why are people talking like APPLE did wrong? I want someone to give me an example of a smartphone that does a proper NSA 3 pass wipe to ensure data cannot be recovered. NAME ONE. If they don't (and none of the phones do), then it is certain your data can be recovered. Blaming this on Apple only shows your ignorance.
