HP Envy 13 unboxing and first impressions {Engadget}

Sep 30th 2009 2:58AM I really didn't think I'd have to say this here on Engadget of all places, but PLEASE, could you perhaps say WHAT CPU the frakking thing has? Everyone keeps listing 'core 2 duo processor' or - as you do here - "full power processor." Just to remind you, that doesn't actually MEAN anything! Core 2 duo could mean anything from the craptastic SU3500 of Acer's timeline series to the monster T9900, or anything in between. The leaked lineup from yesterday listed it as "SL9000 series," which is slightly more specific, but what gives? Can't you right click the Computer shortcut and see WHICH EXACT MODEL it is? Your readers are geeks, for god's sake, this is what we live off of.

Intel announces quad-core Core i7 Extreme and Core i7 for laptops (update: now with reviews!) {Engadget}

Sep 23rd 2009 12:58PM Ehm, can't see how you missed this, but there are THREE chips - the 7200M (1.6GHz), 8200M (1.73GHz) and the 920XM. It quite clearly says so on your picture, as well as previously posted reviews of said chips ...

Android-based Archos gets pictured, briefly priced by B&H {Engadget}

Sep 1st 2009 6:57PM Am I the only one who thinks one of these + a folding keyboard stand would be the ideal note-taking device for students? Superior to netbooks in most ways ...

Sony Ericsson event at CommunicAsia to be a snoozefest, no X2? {Engadget}

Jun 17th 2009 1:37AM Seing how 'entertainment unlimited' is SE's new moniker for 'convergence' devices (e.g. not just a camera or music phone, but all-in-one type devices) this seems very likely. Inclusion of the Xperia line in this seems pretty odd - even if the X1's multimedia functions were always touted - it's supposed to be a high-end prosumer-type smartphone with other capabilities as well... So the 'entertainment unlimited' name would actually be overly limiting for Xperia phones.

LaCie debuts 8TB 4big Quadra, new RAID bundles at NAB {Engadget}

Apr 20th 2009 4:14PM That's a PCI-X card, not PCI-e - two completely different standards meant for completely different markets.

A functional Meizu M8 UI, CEO Jack Wong finally caught on video {Engadget}

Aug 31st 2008 7:32PM Anyone else notice that the device in the video seems to be running some sort of Windows? Check the folder names when he's showing the copy/cut/paste or whatever it is he's doing. Seems to me Meizu have just made one hell of a UI on top of WinCE or some sort of WinMo, and I can't tell if I think that's a good or bad thing.

Camera Store Offers Shopper $75 to Remove Bad Amazon Review {Switched.com}

May 7th 2008 5:33AM The store still diserves whatever bad press it gets, and yes, this is indeed a bribe.

If the store needs to be reminded of its bad service to do something about it, this only shows a bit of survival instinct, not actual care for customers.

If we draw paralells to any functioning justice system: say an innocent man is sent to jail, but later is released. He then has the right to sue for damages, but there would be a massive uproar if the DA told him to STFU about what had happened to him and retract all previous statements once he got the money.

Apr 21st 2008 5:48PM The candybar actually looks kinda' good... too bad it's total crap on a stick.

Would you elect the president via text message? 61 percent say 'Y' {Engadget}

Apr 21st 2008 4:31PM Seeing how this is shown on a HTC Touch (can't you at least use the way better looking black version?), with no visible way to bring up a virtual keyboard - how exactly are we to press anything at all?
