FSN Ohio HD, National Geographic HD coming to TWC Cincinnati / Dayton {Engadget HD}
Mar 6th 2008 3:25PM You didn't miss much, hardly any of the blue jackets games were in HD, the channel is hardly broadcasting at all as is, just some cavs games (maybe 1/3) - mostly home games, and maybe 1/4 of the blue jackets home games (at most i.e. 10 games or so for the season would be my guess).
i had asked fox awhile ago why they couldn't use their other feed (the fsn detroit would be broadcasting the blue jackets v. wings game in HD but they never answered me)
Lawsuit may threaten iPhone sales {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Feb 27th 2008 9:10PM I'd say to folks that this might not be as frivilous as everyone makes it to be, the complaint was filed by a pretty reputable IP firm who isn't going to file things that are not grounded in a good faith belief that there is a valid claim (ethical duties require that). The attorney who signed the papers went to Boston College law school and isn't gonna want his reputation be tainted by filing worthless litigation.
Also lots of little things like this are often licensed as a matter of course in industries and often time what seem like simple ideas to us now were once truly patent worthy and apparently stood up to the process (they don't just pass out patents you need to prosecute it and it can be an extensive process). So lets see where it goes, there might be a valid claim here or not.

Easiest job ever: dentist hires 60 temps to wait in PS3 lines {Engadget}
Nov 16th 2006 9:41PM This wasn't in Ohio and we don't want to take credit for this, go ahead Columbus, GA for once you can be in the spotlight (not like we ever are either unless if OSU is playing). Although I agree that no one should really be complaining, if other people are allowed to rotate in line, then more power to him for being crafty.
And Ron Larson - I assume they were contractually obligated to give up the PS3 so they would be in breach of contract and would be liable to get him a PS3 and due to the scarcity of the product he could claim specific relief, instead of the value of the PS3.
At least we still have White Castle {Blogging Ohio}
Oct 11th 2006 12:35PM "These coastally-generated 'Best Of' lists are all buzz and blather, and we're better off for not appearing on them."
I will have to disagree with most of the comments on here, as I feel the lists can serve a good function. First off these coastally generated lists found a small restaurant in a neighborhood of Cleveland, the first place restaurant is in Chicago and plenty of places between the coasts are listed.
Why would this list be important? It can remind us folks in Ohio, who may be willing to splurge out while in New York on a fine meal that we have things at home that may be better for one and remind New Yorkers to be careful before they lift their chins over our places.
Lastly, to the comment that Parker's is too expensive, I would venture that it is one of the most affordable on the list of top 50, and while that may not be much of a condolence to you, you need to remember that when your enjoying your lower priced applebees your food is packaged, prepared and very often frozen far from home, one the of the wonders of Parker's Bistro is that the food was grown near you, is high quality and supports your neighboring farmers - which may not matter to you and that's fine, but I would rather support them than the Applebee's shareholders.
Streetcars back in Columbus future? {Blogging Ohio}
Sep 14th 2006 1:40PM I'll have to disagree with you on two fronts, one I do not feel that too much is being focused on the downtown. Downtowns matter, and if we leave our downtown to die, so goes the rest of the quality of life. Of course I am biased as I live in the inner city, but having seen other cities I can say Columbus's approach is better in my view.
Secondly, street cars rock, buses-which I do take here in Columbus leave much to be desired. Street cars are have an appeal in that you can see the tracks, know where your going and a sense of style to them. I would gladly pay a higher sales tax for street cars!
Nokia to open US retail stores, offer high-end phones {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 26th 2006 3:49PM There was if I recall a Nokia store in a circa 16th century building in Oxford, England on cornmarket street. And with that being the case I would assume there has to be a few more than just the one there and the one in Thailand and apparently Beverly Hills...
