Ask Engadget: Best BlackBerry handset right now? {Engadget}
Jan 15th 2009 10:16PM I seriously do not think the blackberry curve is a viable option BECAUSE of it's much less common MicroUSB slot.
Nor do I think that the 'newer' design/ release of the curve's 1400mAh battery holds much of any advantage over the earlier released Bold and it's battery.
Just my thoughts, while reading and replying to this post on my Bold.
Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1, how would you change it? {Engadget Mobile}
Dec 26th 2008 9:24PM FULL 3G support and a FULL list of multimedia support as well, such as 30fps both recording and playback, and a better camera (5+ MP) with Flash and active lens autofocus.
Ready for open development to be out-of-the-box eager to meet HTC's TouchFlo3D App, and an accelerometer.
I'm currently on the bold, and honestly saying.. I still am looking to get the phone, regardless that I'm in a contract, and I'll have to pay close to a grand for it. The design and it's functionality as a phone, it's really great, but most of what the Xperia does, I can do on the Bold. I'm somewhat sore from buyer's remorse I suppose, but I am still really aiming to get the Xperia.
Nokia 5800 XpressMusic video review is probably longer than you think {Engadget Mobile}

Video: TouchFLO 3D demoed on Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 {Engadget Mobile}
Nov 6th 2008 9:47AM That just did it for me.
I was torn between the X1 and the Touch PRO, but now that I can get TouchFlo3D on it, I'm set.
Only thing I'm sore about SE is the lack of the accellerometre, hence the loss of greater interaction with the phone.
Coming off my K850, I feel almost naked without it...
Guitar Hero World Tour now rocking store shelves everywhere {Engadget}
Oct 27th 2008 11:50AM I also saw these earlier in the week as well, but not limited to just yesterday.
(In Canada) at Future Shop, they were on display and ready to buy on Thursday.
Sprint's steampunk Motorola i776 now in the mix for push-to-talkin' fun {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 21st 2008 4:55PM TELUS had this phone for quite some time now...
Go look at their website.
(It's been there since the beginning of this month)
Sorry, CDMA: Telus, Bell finally fess up to HSPA, LTE aspirations {Engadget Mobile}
Oct 11th 2008 5:33AM Actually, if you take a look at it, devices in the beginning of the year have been made with a radio tuned to the EVDOrA spec.
LG KEYBO, LG VENUS, LG SHINE, Samsung A523, Motorola RAZR2, HTC Touch Diamond, BlackBerry Pearl(ver2), BlackBerry Curve, HTC Touch Dual, Motorola Q9c, Samsung Instinct, LG Dare
Also the speculation for the network being foreseen as operational by the 2010 Olympics is very possible, being that the WEST is the court where TELUS plays their A-Game.
And for Ericsson to come back into the scene, that would be great, seeing that it would bring back quality into the devices (but that's just my personal hope that Sony Ericsson becomes supported by TELUS)

Oct 10th 2008 5:02PM Yea, alot of analysts up here in Canada is asking "why not wait another year and then roll out LTE instead of trying to match Rogers, and before moving to LTE?"
I think that would've been better as TELUS / CDMA would be the first again to bring the latest in the market.
(CDMA being the first one in the pool of 3G technologies)

Oct 10th 2008 4:27PM Also, to that last comment within Chris' news, you'll probably see around a quarter of the people who are about ready to turn over onto the new HSPA+ network because alot of consumers have been going with newer phones as of recent of this year.
BlackBerry Curve being the best sellers in the local dominion of Toronto.
1997/1998 - ClearNet turns into TELUS Communications Corp and creates TELUS Mobility Corp.
2001 - Consumers upgrade into new EVDO network devices
2004 - Consumers upgrade/OTASP into new EVDOrA network devices
2007/2008 - Consumers renew into newer handsets with greater capabilities such as e-mail, XM satellite radio, web
And now that's through thinking every 3 years (the norm here in Canada) you're able to upgrade with a VERY generous offer from TELUS.
