Close to 700,000 Palm Pre apps downloaded to date {Engadget Mobile}

Palm responds to iTunes / Pre statement, defiant and unfazed {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 18th 2009 9:48AM Since Rubenstein (Ex-Apple Ipod Division head) took over the CEO spot at Palm, this will probably be more about a rivalry than anything else.

As Kwoz said above, RIM syncs with iTunes but you don't hear any talk about that? Lol.

Poll: iPhone 3G S or the Pre? {Engadget}

Jun 8th 2009 5:37PM Loving my Pre! I don't have anything at all against the iPhone (great phone). My biggest gripe is that the AT&T network blows. You couldn't pay me to go on their pathetic 3G network ( if you dare call it 3G).

Even if Jesus Christ came down at some network point between AT&T and Sprint and pointed to the AT&T side, I still wouldn't leave Sprint's network. It's been too good to me.

Congrats the Iphone users on their new phone coming out soon. Nothing but love man! iPhone is a great phone and having competition between the two will only make Palm and Apple to make better phones. That is a win-win for customers of both parties. Gotta like that!!!!!

Palm moves 50,000 Pre smartphones in opening weekend {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 8th 2009 4:31PM I agree. I'm loving my Pre! I've been a multi-tasking fiend since I got it on Saturday morning. It's a Pre 1.0 so I'm expecting the the few bugs I've seen and some of the omissions which will come with SW updates (already updated once and it's a good, quick upgrade).

This phone has a ton of potential and the app store will only make it better once the core OS is opened up to developers.

I can't say enough about this phone. I'm liking what I've seen with the UI. The WebOS is a great, stable platform (lack of memory expansion is my biggest gripe but new models will address this, anyone remember iPhone 1.0?)

New iPhone coming at end of the month. Congrats to Apple users, looks good. I'm just not about AT&T and their so called 3G network (terrible network and price plans blow). Nothing against the iPhone itself (great phone) .

Palm Pre trouble roundup {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 8th 2009 11:46AM Stupid plastic cover that comes with it was dirty. I left it on protecting the screen but during use, it had shifted a little bit just slightly over the proximity sensor. The plastic had become a bit grimy so I removed it and all is well again. This issue was driving me crazy but it's all good now!

Can't wait for more updates! This phone is a 1st generation so most of us should know what to expect (iPhone 1.0 had more bugs than a VW sales lot). It has a ton of potential and I'm already liking the feedback from Palm on their forums. They are actually listening. Looking forward to more apps in the future.

Most of us just need to have patience. Yes, they were some simple things that were either left off the device (alarm clock but was added in SW update, etc.) or have yet to be added. It will get there as they go through their development updates. iPhone and Android went through the same thing. RIM is still dealing with their Storm failures (which to me are bigger issues than anything I've found on the Pre).

Competition is a good thing for us whether or not Apple or Palm would like to admit.
I have nothing against the iPhone (great phone). My only problem is that it is on AT&T (and that terrible excuse for a 3G network). I'm good with the Pre on the Sprint network. Thank you Palm and Sprint. Finally Sprint has a phone worth buying.

Iphone killer? I'd rather say that the Pre is an iPhone stimulator and vice-versa. They will now each make better versions of both phones. It's a win-win for customers.

Palm Pre trouble roundup {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 8th 2009 10:04AM I'm liking it so far. The only problem I have is a bad proximity sensor mentioned in the article which makes it seem like it has shutdown. As soon as I get a phone call or make one, the screen goes dark w/o me moving the phone. It doesn't return to its normal state after the call has ended which can only be ended if the other party on the line actually hangs up (and not just switches to their call waiting by means to hang up with me). The screen stays dark regardless. I've had to pull the battery every time. The holding the power switch and toggling the ringer switch 3 times worked earlier but no longer works anymore. I have to pull the battery after EVERY call. Annoying it is. I'm waiting for a replacement.

Customization is limited on quite a few things but that will come in time. This is Pre 1.0 not Pre 3.0. Otherwise I'm liking it a ton!!!

Confirmed: Palm Pre's iTunes support is very, very hacky {Engadget}

Jun 4th 2009 4:38PM Suing doesn't solve anything. Both Apple and Palm use each others patents. If Apple doesn't like it, just stop it on their end. I could care less whether or not the Pre can synch with itunes. Just give me the damn Pre already!!!

Jun 4th 2009 4:35PM I could care less whether or not iTunes syncs with the Pre. Not a deal breaker at all. I need a business tool with a little fun, not vice-versa. I have an mp3 player, thanks anyway. I'll take my Pre now. :)

HTC Fuze getting big, beautiful firmware update shortly? {Engadget Mobile}

May 29th 2009 5:38PM Wouldn't it be easier to just get the Touch Pro 2 on Sprints network??? AT&T has the worst network around unless you like the "Edge" cause their 3G is a joke.
