Another '70's flashback: The meat crisis {WalletPop}

Oct 24th 2008 10:54PM 100 years ago nobody ate meat every day.
70 years ago nobody ate meat every day.

Vegetables are better for us and we choose not to eat them- maybe this will make people revert to healthier diets anyway.

(Not to mention factory farming is the most evil institution on the planet, IMHO. Look it up, there's no reason to subject things we plan on eating to such awful conditions or feed them things that we consider unsafe for *us* to eat. We are eating them in a roundabout manner- melamine, plastic, sawdust.... all used as fillers because they are cheap!)

support local farmers and eat more real food :)

Store policy stops Michaels from taking quarters as payment {WalletPop}

Oct 23rd 2008 2:25AM This was an example of a stupid cashier- I've been at a Michaels for seven years! Never have we refused to take even gigantic small change sales- lines or not.

Michaels is being vilified because of an idiot employee, I know none of my coworkers would ever do anything like that.

this is ridiculous, either it was a stupid cashier or somebody made this up. We take any money- I've taken 30-40 bucks in very (nickels/dimes) small change and never given anyone a hard time.

I've had bad experiences with cashiers- if you tell the manager instead of refusing to shop there it helps them to fix the situation. Too many people don't realize that good cashiers are much harder to come by in recent times- They can't pay them much money, so what does come in isn't always so great...

Oct 23rd 2008 2:16AM Don't believe everything you read- this is not at all a Michaels policy- I've worked at one for 7 years and we gladly accept change!
:)

Bad cashiers happen to any store, people should complain to a manager and get something done rather than abandon a great store.

Oct 23rd 2008 2:10AM I work at a Michaels in MD, and have for seven years.

There is *no* way that this story reflects a company policy- this cashier was either misinformed or the story came out wrong.

Michaels is attempting to become a paragon of customer service with new programs and training- this story goes against all of their new initiatives, I cannot imagine any store refusing to take a small sum of quarters!

Sony Ericsson releases female Bluetooth headset HBH-PV712 {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 30th 2008 8:36AM i bought the other version of this set- much cuter, covers are metallic purple, white with a purple vine, or grey with a black vine.
the case is purple and black suede, the necklace is better..
but anyway, yes, this is 100x better than a normal bluetooth- sized smaller and way more comfy, try to find the other version if you don't like the ugly covers on this one. you'll be happy you did =)
