UK's Advertising Standards Authority yanks iPhone ad for being misleading {Engadget}

Aug 27th 2008 12:45PM It's not just apple...imagine if the US had an advertising standards authority. It would have to be as big as the IRS with the DoD's budget.

Rogers' regular sized BlackBerry Bold gets priced: $399.99 on a 3-year contract {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 16th 2008 11:27PM Rogers is flat out evil. I feel sorry for all you hosers in the great white north.

Aug 11th 2008 8:50PM MetroPCS sucks, plain and simple.

Whats the point in having a text-intense phone if they arrive to and are received from the end user on a 2 hour delay?

HTC Touch Pro hands-on {Engadget}

Aug 11th 2008 5:50PM before you wet yourself let's see how video is on the touch pro...cause if it's anything like the tilt then it's bunk

Lenovo goes netbook with IdeaPad S10 {Engadget}

Aug 4th 2008 8:12PM What's the difference in pulling out an express card modem vs a USB modem from your knapsack? They both have a similar form factor. The only advantage is that it will free up a USB port if you use an ECmodem , but almost every lappy has 2 usb ports.

Tethering is even easier; you will obviously have the phone with you so alls you need is a data cable. And a 'crippled' WM6 phone is probably the easiest to use as a modem..all I had to do on my tilt was copy Windows>'Internet sharing' file into the start menu folder. Oh, so difficult.

Aug 4th 2008 11:29AM >a sprint express card wireless modem

USB modems are available from Sprint, VZW, At&t...gives more flexibility with the option to use it in a desktop.

Or better yet, just get tethering for your cellphone. No expensive hardware to buy OR contractual commitment.

But I wonder if these netbooks will have the option of getting broadband access built-in.

AT&T iPhone exclusivity extended to 2010? {Engadget Mobile}

Aug 1st 2008 11:17PM Verizon is moving towards LTE (GSM evoulution) In the US, so CDMA will be limited to Sprint by 2012.

By then we'll hopefully see an iPhone that can be used on either network

AT&T takes wraps off Text Accessibility Plan for iPhone 3G, price hike included at no extra charge {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 31st 2008 3:08PM I won't hate on SERO because it is the best deal in wireless..I have the SERO500 plan and its a better deal than my AT&T ERP lines.

The Mogul (aka AT&T 8525) is 2 year old hardware and has since been replaced by the tilt (8925). See, thats the problem with Sprint, they don't have good phones. It's well and good that Sprint will eventually get Andriod phones when it's released, but in the interim they haven't had a unique model to sell. And you can save your breath about the Instinct, Sprint is still expected to have lost 1m customers in the 2nd quarter.

LTE, WiMAX vie for ITU's love and affection {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 26th 2008 12:50AM In this round, perhaps, but in the long run it will be LTE and the further evolution of GSM cell technology. Yes, the same GSM tech that 82% of global cell subscribers use.

Verizon (alltel) is on board for LTE, as well as the current GSM carriers of TMoblile and At&t, keeping Sprint on it's heels with an inferior cell technology that will leave it begging manufacturers to build exclusive devices when the incentive for them to do so won't be there.

Walt Mossberg reviews the iPhone 3G, isn't that impressed (now with more David Pogue and Ed Baig!) {Engadget}

Jul 8th 2008 10:03PM The iP3G is what it is...incremental hardware improvements and 3rd party software support. Its an above average device to be sure, but not the game changer that the original iPhone was.

Hopefully the 3rd generation will make bigger strides.
