Poll: iPhone 3GS or the Pre? {Engadget}
Jun 8th 2009 5:55PM Your post is 100% wrong. I have an old as hell HTC sprint phone, the 6700 Apache. I can browse and stream music and send/recv txt all the time. That phone was built in 2004 and looks like shit. The Pre can do all these things as well. Why don't you actually try one before you open your mouth. That way, maybe everyone wouldn't instantly know you're a moron.
Motorola Clutch now on sale at Boost {Engadget Mobile}
Jun 1st 2009 4:20PM @Derek Even a hybrid phone won't let you use Sprint's CDMA network on Boost because the CDMA part wouldn't be able to be attached to your Boost account, aand therefore wouldn't connect with the CDMA towers. There are a lot of people who read EngMobile who apparently need to do a pile of reading on cell technologies and MAYBE WORK IN THE FIELD SOME before they start assuming they can do ridiculous things with their phones.
I've worked for Sprint. I've worked for ATT, and I currently work for Boost in a technical capacity. You can't beat the system here. Yes, you can use Nextel phones on Boost (NOT SPRINT PHONES), but you're only guaranteed to have voice and "chrip", everything else is up in the air, and Blackberries are a bigtime HELL NO. The older ones sort of work (maybe) and the new ones don't work at all.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love it if it wasn't this way, but that's how it is. Boost Mobile is the best deal for an *ahem* economically-challenged (read "poor") person to have a cell phone. It is NOT a cheap way to get a phone on Sprint's network, nor is it even a substitute for data-heavy Nextel business users.
All that said, the i465 clutch is a step up for Boost despite the fact that it's just a dumphone with a Querty. I've handled a couple and they're hands down the nicest phones on Boost.
Smart Q7 reviewed, deemed fairly useful for fairly basic tasks {Engadget}
May 27th 2009 12:48PM The Iphone is cool, but it's not the be all, end all device. Thankfully. I like my devices not tied down to ATT or an "app store." I'll stick to devices that let me install whatever software I like without having to meet someone else's "approval process." Thanks.

May 27th 2009 12:37PM Look, Iphone assholes. I LIKE the Iphone. It's a pretty cool device. They really got some stuff right, but you become assholes because you refuse to acknowledge that, THERE ARE OTHER GOOD THINGS OUT THERE TOO.
@QuantumPhysics: My 2004 fucking HTC Apache can run a damn mortgage calculator. Didn't cost me a dime. WINMO not only has an app store but an *APP FREE FOR ALL* ALL OVER THE INTERNET WITH THOUSANDS OF EASILY INSTALLED APPS.
So, please, Iphone fanboys, PLEASE stop acting like no other phone could ever run *INSERT APP I"VE HAD FOR 5 YEARS HERE* because they can. Yes, the Iphone is neat, awesome interface, but except for some neat motion games, it can't do anything productive that my 5 year old smartphone can't. NOT HATIN, JUST SAYIN.
