Comcast set to begin bandwidth capping come October 1st {Engadget HD}
Aug 29th 2008 10:04PM *sigh* as we once gain fall further behind so many companies because of crappy low/zero competition market place for broadband.
I have a big problem with this so far quite a few people have demonstrated that comcast is very dishonest or has very poor metering tools or both. They have a responsibility to their customers to provide detailed accounting if they are going institute a real and enforced cap. It’s not just a matter of customer service they need to be able to prove the numbers and to date they have done a really bad job of that and been inanely arbitrary.

Jun 19th 2008 1:24PM 360 is just to dam loud, and has major heat problems. to boot. I want to love it as extender (well accept the WMC blase has worse codec support then the 360 main media desktop), the loudness just rules it out. Since my original red ring the refurb they sent me is a good 20 decibels louder and the fans seem to blare full force no matter what you are doing.

Jun 19th 2008 1:22PM I would have liked to have seen more on codec testing. The 360 is suppose able more limited. Like to see info on plug-ins like my movies (which should be able to stream iso).

Jun 10th 2008 12:07AM Translation, "We wanted a bigger selling opportunity to try to cram stuff down peoples throats while we have a captive audience. We also felt a 3 minute ring up period failed created a long enough line around our buildings at the last launching and we actually want people camping out for days while we perform credit checks and exhaust people, who will then buy more in their weekend state. Yes it's true we learned everything we know from users cars dealerships and not Apple or any other business that takes it's customers time seriously or tried to treat it with respect."
So k' though, they lost me with the price jack up, I'm fine with my old one. Looks like apple lost it's leverage and the AT&T we all know and loath is rearing it's ugly ass head again.

Jun 6th 2008 10:41PM Hmmm payload a is relevant to calculating power consumption as well. I'm guessing they will balance the numbers around moving an additional 450 pounds or so, so two slightly overweight adults or so I would hope.
My Go scooter says it gets about 15mph, and it might with my four year old on it, with me (225 6'1) it it's lucky if it gets 6mph. :p.

Jun 6th 2008 4:00PM He said he just doesn't believe a 3 wheel can be stable enough compared to a 4 wheeler any kind of accident or road hazard situation. At least not well enough to stick the family in (much like most of us would not put our kids on a motorcycle with us).
He is passingly familiar with the aptera design, but it was just a lunch conversation and he didn't expand much past that. I'll hit him up a bit next time we talk to get a better impression of what his issue is.

Jun 6th 2008 1:37PM Anyone know what the cabin noise level will be. I couldn't find anything on that. the msnbc footage made the cabin noise seem really high. Be nice to have some numbers ot contrast to a prius etc

Jun 6th 2008 1:32PM Just a side clip, but I was talking to a friend of mine who is an engineer and his only comment was that he would not touch a wheel car with a 10 foot pole, but Aptera dose a good job talking up their safety angle.

Jun 6th 2008 1:29PM Lol I'm not sure only as wide as a hummer is a good marketing angle and probable why there are not a lot of side by side shots or pictures of it parking :). something that big for 2 people is a bit hard to take but really is will live and die by the test drive IMO. I still want one though. My Hybrid SUV (highlander hybrid, the barely green suv) can pull into most compact spots better then my passat. BUt neither is 7 feet wide.

Jun 6th 2008 3:47AM I have been super interested in the Aptera for a while but some times I like at the footage the shoot and wonder how much we are not seeing. For example is sure doesn't look like it is going to fit into any normal sized parking spot with those wheel extensions.
