An interview with the man behind the name "iMac" {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Nov 5th 2009 3:27PM As long as there is some kind of consistency. I'm fine with calling the entry level consumer notebook iBook. Then at least you can tell people, the consumer products are all 'i' whereas the niches are called their respective names.

Nov 5th 2009 11:21AM Am I the only person that thinks iMac no longer makes any sense? It was cool when there used to be iBook, but now consumer notebook is called the MacBook.
So the line goes like this:
Portable: MacBook, MacBook Pro
Desktop: Mac mini, iMac, Mac Pro
iMac is now the only line with the 'i' in front. All the other 'i' devices are handheld MP3 players (iPod) or smartphone (iPhone).
I mean... Come on... Maybe it should be called the 'Mac' now. And reserve the 'i' to handheld devices maybe.

Oct 29th 2009 5:25PM I wonder if iFixit will be able to get their hands on a Chinese iPhone.
Seems tough, you have to get it on a 24-month term and probably have to be a Chinese resident.

Oct 29th 2009 3:52PM Both Unicom's online store, as well as Apple China makes no mention of Wi-Fi on the iPhone 3GS or the 3G.
So I guessing it's true...? No Wi-Fi on iPhone in China...

Oct 29th 2009 3:47PM So is it finally launching in China? Last I hear Apple was forced to strip Wi-Fi, is this still the case? Or is the iPhone 3GS in China exactly the same as elsewhere in the world?
Telus joins the fun, gets itself an iPhone this November {Engadget}
Oct 6th 2009 11:23PM It's hard to do it in the US. The only other HSPA capable network in the US is T-Mobile and it runs on an obscure frequency.
Telus and Bell are not building a GSM network. They went directly to HSPA+, 21 Mbit/s. Rogers has already been rolling out their HSPA+ network in select markets.
New, redesigned iMac models could be coming shortly {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 24th 2009 3:52PM Oh yes, USB 3.0. But now I'm just asking for too much.
Blu-ray would probably be likely but I'm not holding out for that.

Sep 24th 2009 3:51PM I'd like to see more on the CPU front. Since Intel just announced Core i7 Ms maybe we'll get one of those in an iMac?
Would have to dump the G9400M though if they go that route. Having a GT 120 for the low end and offer the 4850HD for the upper end maybe?
