Maingear unveils Core i7-packin' SHIFT, your own 'personal supercomputer' {Engadget}

Nov 2nd 2009 9:26AM Make that "At least 24GB of RAM," not "up to 8GB of RAM." Their site lets you add up to 24GB, which makes me think that its maximum allowable is 32GB, but I can't tell.

8GB of RAM in a machine of those specs would be an obvious bottleneck.

Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Client for Snow Leopard {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Nov 1st 2009 7:39PM The biggest problem with Microsoft's RDC for Windows admins is that it's incredibly crash-prone when shadowing Terminal Services users. It's been this way since version 1; there is, apparently, no end in sight.

Our iPhone home screens {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 5th 2009 12:49PM Completely agree. What I got out of this is that a few TUAW prefer to jailbreak their phones – which hopefully doesn't lead to them later bitching about apps not working or stability problems – and their default app selection tends to be... erm... pedestrian.

That jailbroken home screen looks as ugly as a spray-painted and riced up 1990s Honda Civic.

AP Stylebook comes to the App Store {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 2nd 2009 10:35AM Considering that the Associated Press was one of the launch partners for the debut of the App Store in 2008, your comment seems pretty off-base.

Dropbox the iPhone app has dropped {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Sep 30th 2009 12:59AM Tried it, works great. I haven't used any of the other iPhone file-sharing/syncing apps, so I can't offer a comparative analysis, but going from Mac to iPhone with Dropbox was seamless. Well done.
