Averatec debuts Atom-based, 18.4-inch All-in-One desktop PC {Engadget}
Oct 13th 2008 11:25PM I think it looks great from what I can see in the pic. I'm glad there are some all-in-one PC computers which don't imitate the iMac and look good in their own designs. Bring them on!

Oct 12th 2008 7:09PM I have no idea what Erik has been doing to his iPhone but I an say without a doubt that the screen is NOT as prone to scratching as any phone I've owned. And to Heathen, I think my iPhone is far from crappy but very true that it is not the best phone. As with any device of this type, there are tradeoffs and in particular the phone function is not the best, but still not crappy.
If I had wanted the best PHONE I would not have even considered a "smart phone". The best cellular PHONE I've ever owned is still my good old tri-band Motorola Startac.

Oct 11th 2008 7:44PM Jesus H on a bike why do we keep having to go through this.....
You can't just fill this thing with an ordinary compressor. It requires too much pressure. And air doesn't compress itself. Compressors require a power source such as electricity which could be be generated by fossil fuels from what? Wait for it.....
OIL COMPANIES
They don't have to figure a way to charge you for it. They already have it.

Yamaha brings the style with A-S700 / CD-S700 audio components {Engadget}
Oct 9th 2008 1:14PM Yes, that styling was in through the 70's and 80's. Black was introduced in the early 80's and started taking firm hold in the mid to late 80's.
I'm glad this is back. I think it's classic and it has always looked good with a very solid high end feel. Find some of those old components and pick them up. You don't get that build quality these days unless you go with the very high end stuff.

Latest NPD data shows RAZR V3 still top-selling handset in America {Engadget}
Oct 8th 2008 9:34PM Well said.
I had a ver 1 razr and it was a hot mess. I hear that subsequent versions corrected a lot of the issues. The one thing I did always like about it is that when opened it is easy to hold and when it wasn't dropping calls or cutting in and out I could hear very well. A few people in my family have them and they seem to have much better luck than I did. It's a nice form factor. It' fits in almost any pocket very well and it looks good.
