Verizon asks 'if the iDoesn't, what does?' {Engadget Mobile}

Oct 19th 2009 10:02AM Completely agree with you.

The "There's a map for that" ads are great and call out the biggest weak point of the iPhone, which is the AT&T network. Verizon does a fantastic job showing their 3G network is 5X AT&T's. Excellent job comparing coverage and appealing to consumers.

On the other hand, the "DroidDoes" ads won't resonate with mainstream consumers. Most don’t understand multiple applications or open development. That commercial doesn’t even show a phone! My wife had no idea what it was even for and didn’t get the reference to the iPhone.

Timeframe for the 3D infiltration? 3 - 4 years, says Panasonic president {Engadget HD}

Oct 8th 2009 2:48PM Agree that PQ has peaked (at least in mid to high end sets), but don't believe 3D will catch on until they develop a technology that doesn't need the goofy glasses to work.

Manufacturers should stop focusing on 3D and widgets, and instead work on getting a full browser built in to the TV.

Digital TV transition: 12 hours in, how are things going? {Engadget HD}

Jun 13th 2009 12:20PM My 20 year old TV stopped working on Friday and is still broken. You all seem really knowledgable, any idea what the problem is?

Will the DTV transition get more people watching OTA television? {Engadget HD}

Jun 12th 2009 9:28AM I love the idea of ditching cable in theory but not so easy when I thought about the channels I primarily watch: ESPN, HBO, Comedy Central, TNT. My wife watches mostly MTV, VH1, and USA. Don't believe I would get these OTA, but could probably find some shows via Hulu or iTunes.

AT&T purportedly looking to push iPhone exclusivity to 2011 {Engadget Mobile}

Apr 15th 2009 3:22PM Verizon is notorious for disabling GPS for 3rd party apps and prefers no wifi (see all Verizon BB's)

CE-Oh no he didn't! Part LIX: Elevation's McNamee predicts death to iPhone on June 29 {Engadget Mobile}

Mar 7th 2009 2:54PM I'm sure the Pre will be a great phone for some people just like the iPhone is for others, but unless its on Verizon I'm not interested. I'd really like to have either of those phones over my BB but can't stomach the inferior coverage and that fact that 80% of my friends family are on Verizon.

Different things matter to different people - I don't think iPhone owners are all fanboys, some just like the features it offers.

Liberty Media rescues Sirius XM from bankruptcy {Engadget}

Feb 17th 2009 12:56PM I've had Sirius for almost 3 year and probably listen to 90% Stern and 10% music. If he goes or retires I cancel immediately and go back to FM/CDs/MP3s.

I think a large portion of Howard's audience feels the same way. My advice would be to trim all the other less important celebs and get Howard to a more reasonable contract.

AT&T WiFi access now listed as "included" with iPhone {Engadget Mobile}

May 8th 2008 12:23PM so for $119.99 you get unlimited voice, data, email, and hotspot wifi but only 200 text messages....

you'd think they throw that in for a truely "unlimited" plan.

ZeeVee's ZvBox streams your PC to your HDTV over coax {Engadget}

May 1st 2008 10:00AM $499? Think I'll stick with a $20 VGA cable (TV has a VGA input).

Skyfire browser for Windows Mobile is game changing, does Flash {Engadget Mobile}

Jan 28th 2008 9:59AM speed looks awesome in the demo video, but unless it has the finger-touch zoom/scroll capabilities of the iphone, its no iphone killer.
