I fear for the price of the official thing, though, since everything regarding Apple is highly overpriced 'round here. (think about 50% more, the unlocked iPhone included!)

@austin: Attention to the curved buttons and how the light reflects: IMHO practically everything is drawings some inspirantion from this kind of reflection physics, the upper half with at least 25% more brightness than the lower half.

The MBA is not for playing Crysis or doing heavy-duty stuff like 3d animations.
It's for presentations, writing dissertations and (God forbid) looking cool browsing the net while on the campus Wi-Fi hotspot, so I think the specs are just fine.
The high price-tag is a downside, but aren't all Apple products expensive by default?
