Video: Sony Ericsson's XPERIA X1 gets white-glove dissection {Engadget}
Oct 22nd 2008 10:55AM This phone was ridiculously delayed, it seemed like it took over a year. After announcing it, the iPhone 3g was confirmed/released, the Samsung Omnia was confirmed/released, the Touch HD was confirmed, the Diamond Pro was confirmed/released and the G1 was confirmed/released. This thing was slooow to the market. All the hype faded away.
Apple Q408 results out: 6.9m iPhones sold, record Mac sales UPDATE: Steve answers analysts' questions {Engadget}
Oct 21st 2008 8:56PM WOW, 6.9M people have not heard about the G1? They need to market it better I guess, because there's no way anyone who knows about the G1 would purchase this. :p.
I couldn't resist, I have no real gripe with the iPhone though (it's innovative device indeed!). Rock on!

Oct 20th 2008 4:31PM Wow, your comment was like my my biography, except for the fact that I'm not married (being a device geek before I was legally old enough to get married probably prevented that), otherwise you hit it right on the head.
"After all of the studying, obsessing, reviewing, wondering and waiting, I know Ill feel that certain emptiness that only comes when I'm finally holding the thing in my hands." - routb3d. Perfectly put
I'm studying for my CCNA, but I've been putting more hours into studying the G1 (I'm Pathetic!!!!)

Oct 20th 2008 1:19PM Thanks for calling out "English Idiots" for me guys. I was rushing my comment, responding while my office phone was ringing - trying to see if I could get my post out before my phone went to voicemail. Either way, thanks for putting him in his place.
And, I can't believe he actually scans posts looking for typos, get a life dude.

Oh really?!!? I had no idea that there were mobile versions of Linux, like Ubuntu MID edition... I had no idea that the guys at XDA-devs are getting closer to having a fully functioning version of Linux running on the HTC Universal. Damn, where have I been, please, help me catch up to speed.
Seriously speaking now; Based on your comment I can deduce that you knew what I meant when I said "Linux-based mobile OS" otherwise you would not have mentioned "non-phone mobile linux distros", So, what were you trying to prove again?
Considering that this discussion is about a phone I didn't feel the need to specify. But, just for you: "Based on the anticipation of the T-Mobile G1, with 1.5M estimated preorders in 3 weeks, combined with the media frenzy, and mainstream availability, and distribution by the 2nd largest GSM cellular provider in the US, I feel as though Android is the most popular Linux-based operating system to be functioning on a mobile phone"
Is it really that serious Sarig? Leave it alone.

Oct 14th 2008 10:44AM @ike turner
Would you like to combat what I said? To reiterate: Anodroid is the most popular linux based mobile OS. Is it not? And please don't tell me OpenMoko is the most popular. What does the number of units shipped have to do with popularity anyway, or would my comment be more valid on Oct 22nd?
Me acknowledging the success of Android makes me a Fanboy? Wow "ike turner" you're an idiot.
I'm tired of intellectually lambasting flamers like you...

Oct 14th 2008 9:26AM yeah, I think they would have benefited by using the Android OS which has recently become the most popular linux-based mobile Operating System.

Oct 7th 2008 8:55PM @MBN,
You sound like a Blackberry fanboy to me. Just so that I'm exonerated of any trollery, I handle round abuot 70 mobile devices for my organization. Unfortunately, my director let's the users choose whatever device they fancy. So I deal with, but not limited to: Treo's (Palm and Windows Based), HTC devices, iPhones, Blackberrys, and almost ever other WM device, both professional and standard.
Blackberry nightmares
Hmm.. Where is the email configuration icon.. oh shit I have to reboot my device and wait for that icon to be pushed out to me. I need a PIN!? What?
Email configurations are done on the cloud (if you're smart enough not to invest in a proprietary BES). "Oh let me configure this account... WAIT... Why is it connecting to the internet?.. Oh damn, I need a blackberry username.. shit how do I get one.. Let me call Sprint."
This trackball is hella annoying, and why does it take 3 minutes to reboot? etc. etc...
I'm no novice when it comes to mobile devices, so don't try me..
