Introduction to Karting - Part 2 {Autoblog}

Oct 9th 2009 3:44PM I had the opportunity to ride a friends Kart in Vegas and was blown away by the sensation of speed. I've raced motocross for many years, and own a Yamaha R1 which I've had in excess of 170mph many times. But, neither rival the sensation of speed on a Kart sitting 1" off the ground and coming into a decreasing radius turn at 90mph while your buddy is screaming at you to keep it pinned around the entire corner until you enter the decreasing radius. Your brain is telling you to let off or you'll go flying off the track at any second...that there is no way in hell these tires are going to keep you on the track at 2+g around the corner at 85mph. It's an unbeleivable sensation you can barily put into words.

If you ever get the chance, even if it costs you a couple hundred $ for rental, DO IT. You won't regret the experience.

If you want to get into car racing and cannot afford it, go Kart. It's cheap and it's more fun than just about any other type of racing. And it's also the PERFECT ENTRY TO RACING FOR KIDS.

Officially Official: Honda unleashes the goods on VFR 1200F {Autoblog}

Oct 9th 2009 12:36PM I sold my 40mpg Corolla because I HATED driving it....sooooo boring!! Driving a truck right now and love it other than 2x gas costs...yes I'm a truck lover! I can't wait to buy another bike for commuting and just fun in general. Bikes are the ultimate "economy vehicle" and mega-fun at the same time...imagine that! 40mpg, 0-60 in 3 seconds, ear-to-ear grin the entire time....it's heaven on the tarmac!
Of course you must sacrifice conf calls, coffee, txting, reading, and all those other stupid things that make American's terrible drivers. And by doing so you have the epiphony: Holy Crap! Driving/Riding is FUN again!!
Yamaha R1 or Ducati HyperMotard coming soon to this guy's garage :)

REPORT: Consumers increasingly shying away from small cars; owners unhappy {Autoblog}

Oct 7th 2009 12:21PM bye bye Corolla, got great mpg but I hated driving you! I'm one of them, and I'm damn happy to be back in a truck after driving a Corolla for 4 years. It was a great economy car, but I absolutly HATED driving it. Yeah, my gas bill more than doubled going back to a truck, but you know what, I'm happy, and I don't care one bit about the gas bill as a result. The day I go back to driving an "economy" vehicle it will be a Yamaha R1 motorcycle that is actually mega-fun to ride and still gets 30-40mpg. I LOVE to drive, and people like me cannot be happy in a 130hp economy car because it kills our passion for something we love to drive those types of vehicles...if you are on this blog...chances are you understand that statement...unless you drive a Prius...then just ignore me and move on.

If you want to flame me, you'd be a moron, I'm not a 24yo single kid living in the city like most of you Prius lovers. I live in the west, I have 4 kids, and I have hobbies that require a truck or full-size SUV...I'm one that actually owns a large vehicle for a reason...because I need it and I use it as it's meant to be used.

I LOVE MY 300HP, 15-20MPG, CREW CAB NISSAN TITAN 4x4 TRUCK!!! Hate me, I don't care, cause it makes me HAPPY!!

2010 Toyota 4Runner debuts with four-cylinder, Trail grade model {Autoblog}

Sep 24th 2009 5:29PM why in the world would anyone choose the 4cyl option, especially on 4wd?? it get's 1mpg better and significantly less power, it's worthless!! Toyota should not have even offered a 4cyl version. If you want MPG you're looking at the wrong vehicle class dude!

2010 Toyota 4Runner debuts with four-cylinder, Trail grade model {Autoblog}

Sep 24th 2009 4:42PM I love it! The only thing I'd change is more aggressive off-road tires on the trail version. I had an 04 V8 4Runner that was probably the best all around vehicle I've ever owned...and I've owned a lot of vehicles! They finally gave it a real 3rd row which is the reason I had to sell my 04...twins caused us to outgrow it! I really don't enjoy the full-size SUV's I've been driving the last few years and would love to go back to a mid-sized. This new 4Runner with it's off-road capabilites which I would actually use is extremely tempting!! With it's off-road abilities it could get my entire family to a semi-secret campground I found in Colorado while dirt biking. Great job Toyota!

REPORT: Diesels paying financial dividends back more quickly than hybrids {Autoblog}

Aug 4th 2009 12:15AM BUYING A PRIUS IS FINANCIALLY STUPID!! The fact is being green costs $$. The true comparison is a Prius vs a Corolla. The Corolla is $10,000 cheaper and still gets 32-40mpg. I don't care how much you drive, you'll NEVER make up a $10,000 price gap which is the TRUE COST OF GOING HYBRID. All you Prius lovers are in it for the ego and status symbol of proving to your neighbors and friends that you are "green". Too bad those of us that really know cars also know that you've made a really stupid financial decision in your choice of buying the hybrid. And to top it off you've purchased a boring car that is so lame to drive you forgot how enjoyable driving can be.

Keep your prius, if I want to go "green" I'll choose something smarter and more fun to drive such as a TDI or in my case a Yamaha R1 that goes 0-60 in 3 seconds, gets 40mpg, and keeps me grinning ear to ear every time I throw my leg over it.

Jul 17th 2009 4:40PM Same Here! In fact the ONLY reason I clicked on the link is because of the Hard Rock Guam glass. I lived there as a kid and I'm dying to go back and visit some day. Hello fello guamanians...native or not!!

Panasonic DMC-ZS3 hands-on and review {Engadget}

Jun 15th 2009 2:16PM This is not a "normal" version of AVCHD, it's AVCHD-Lite which is not widely supported on Mac or PC yet. On top of that I heard Panasonic was doing something strange and breaking the AVCHD-Lite file up into lots of small chuncks...I think 20MB each? I can't find the review I read this in, so I might be slightly off. The good news for Mac owners is iMovie 8.0.3 update has added support for this file format. I have not tried it yet, so I'd love to know if anyone else has tried it and their thoughts?
I actually want the Panasonic DMC-TS1 which is rugged and waterproof version.
