Google puts kibosh on talk of LiMo partnership, says Android is 80 percent done {Engadget Mobile}

Anyone who has ever written code or developed software knows that the last 20% takes 80% of the effort and time.

Motorola's ZN5 gets handled, camera shows promise {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 7th 2008 11:38PM Well I can tell the difference between 2 & 8 Mp images, and I think most people could, even looking at them full screen on a monitor. Make a 2Mp image as big as your monitor screen, and do the same with an otherwise identical 8Mp image, if you don't believe me. Really, you can tell. Not screaming, just saying try it.

I do strongly agree with your overall point though, that other factors are more important than Mp in determining quality in photos; esp. the lens.

Ken Rockwell's site does a good job of explaining why megapixel counts don't matter as much as the marketing departments of camera/phone makers would have you believe:

T-Mobile announcing Motorola E8 tomorrow? {Engadget Mobile}

Jun 26th 2008 5:16AM $199? This must be one of those marketing ploys where they set the price artificially high, so that when they announce it at $99, or lower it soon after launch, people think they're getting a deal.

Or maybe TMobile's buyers are completely stupid, and pay way too much for low and mid level phones.

Something tells me that there is a camp over at TMo that wants to get some higher end gear going on, by the suits up top think that something like this is a "toe in the water" to see if they'll sell new business. Certainly a half-assed approach that is doomed to be a self-fulfilling prophecy and a failed result.

TUAW Macworld 2008 Keynote Predictions {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Jan 11th 2008 8:20AM While I've seen quite a few posters predict a 16gig iPhone, no one is talking about other logical iPhone enhancements, (some probably just need software) like an upgraded camera, the ability to shoot h264 video, MMS, voice dialing, GPS (not sure if that will be a 3G thing), copy & paste, and games; which could be another huge revenue stream from the device to Apple.
