Sling Media's Clip+Sling strides into beta, release looks imminent {Engadget}

Oct 9th 2008 2:47AM MegaZone quit wasting all this time posting in these threads and get SlingPlayer out for the iPhone already, ill tell you what if somehow it is released prior to the end of the year I will buy another slingbox (pro-hd sounds good) and two sling catchers to go along with my Solo. I mean what the hell is the hold up before it was you wanted to play by apples rules and wait to be accepted now you are but BB is first, give us a break and get it out. You have the SDK you had a concept for "technology demo" ( like anyone doubted it could be done) lol and now your on engadget wasting time replying to useless comments like mine. Shut up and get it done, and when you have a news release Do it on Your site where people can find it.

iPhone gets tweaked Safari in firmware 2.2 {Engadget}

Sep 28th 2008 2:08AM Robert,

Im really not sure what the issue with your device is, that is supposed to be a big advantage of 3g is the ability to do both at once (voice and data) i actually tested it with my two phones i have prior to posting ( to make sure there was not an outlash on this site, you know many tuff guys at the keyboards these days) and then once after i posted my comment to see if it still was doing what it was suppose to, (for the record it worked both times) My question to you is one do you have wifi turned off ? this could or could not be a problem i am not sure though (mine is turned off for the record) and are you in an area where it bounces back and forth alot from edge to 3g ? either way it should not disconnect your call by simply hitting the home button. let me know and see what we can find out, ill help you out why everyone else whines about copy and paste ;)

Sep 28th 2008 12:07AM @Robert Cable / wickedpheonix
actually you can surf the web and be on a phone call simultaneously
or send a text and be on a phone convo at the same time. Perhaps you (wickedpheonix) are
not familiar with 3g capabilities, but along with increased speed over
edge it allows you those options i mentioned as well (voice and data
transfer simultaneously) As long as your in a 3g area hit your home
button while on the phone and then tap safari and surf! easy as that. Or hit home button and then tap your SMS and send a text. It works I Promise.
cmon learn the technology before you go bashing apple for a feature
that is allowed by the technology and not the software!

Sep 12th 2008 1:15AM Not sure if you are aware, but Simplify Media does NOT stream video content or DRM Music to your iphone. I know bc I have one and wish that it would do so. I also have a sling box and wish there was an App for customers to use on there iphone. While Simplify Media is a wonderful program that i do enjoy using it doesnt "do it all"

HD STBs are not eligible for $40 DTV vouchers {Engadget HD}

Jan 2nd 2008 11:13PM Every household qualifies for TWO Vouchers! hahaha and even though I own two HDTVs in my house I will still apply for these. As others have stated, I still have numerous tube (non HDTVs) in my household, almost one in each room. So apply for this and why not when the govt is requiring 4.6 billion just to be considered for the unused spectrum. It IS NOT coming out of any ones tax's!

And to Rocketboy and college student i would like to address you two, the box does not cost 40 dollars as it is a cupon for $40 off of the price when they become avalible to purchase so before posting on a topic perhaps try doing some research on it so that you do not end up sounding like a fool!
