Motorola gets official with GPS-packing MING A1600, A1800 {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 3rd 2008 5:31AM It’s official. After months of speculation, Motorola has finally confirmed two new additions to its MING handset lineup, the A1600 (left) and A1800 (right). Like their predecessor, the A1200, the new smart phones will run on Linux OS and come with a 2.4-inch QVGA touchscreen, Bluetooth, microSD expansion slot and FM radio.

What’s new is the inclusion of the integrated GPS receiver (and image geotagging), as well as the upgraded 3-megapixel camera. Additionally, the A1800 comes with two SIM card slots that allow connection to both GSM and CDMA networks at the same time. Sadly, the new MINGs do not feature Wi-Fi or 3G connectivity, as was rumored earlier.

HTC Star Trek / i-Mate Smartflip reviewed {Engadget Mobile}

Jul 1st 2008 12:18AM the only bad thing that i've realised about this imate phone is that it's sound is very low. if you are travelling or if you are at a noisy place even if at a little noisy place it will be very hard for you to listen the caller. and i transferred songs mp3 format to my imate smartflip and sound for player was also very low. i have seen nokia and sony ericsson mobile they have louder sound than this set.. rest it's a great set. beautiful stylish really cool color and design. i have black one.

LG's KE850 PRADA official: iPhone says, wha? {Engadget}

Feb 25th 2008 5:34AM Co-developed with fashion house Prada, the KE850 is a high tech, high fashion tri-band GSM mobile phone. In spite of its appearance, it isn’t a smartphone. Think of it more like a feature phone on steroids. Not being a smartphone doesn’t make it any less exciting of a device, of course.

Nokia's N95 smartphone goes legit {Engadget}

Dec 17th 2007 6:49AM N95 has almost everything else you could think of including in a phone too: a music player with support for all common music formats, a stereo FM radio, integrated handsfree speaker, speaker independent voice dialling, talking ringtones, HSDPA (the fast data transfer technology dubbed "3.5G") and lots more! When it comes to connectivity, the N95 is the best-connected device in town, with support for Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, Infrared, Wireless LAN, TV-Out and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Its memory is also more than adequate with up to 160 Mbytes of onboard memory and support for microSD memory cards (up to 8 Gbytes). Battery life is OK - when you consider how much work has to be done to power this beast, you can't really set your expectations too high.
