Sep 29th 2009 12:37PM Blathering Blatherskite! This is just a ripoff of GizmoDuck!

Editorial: Apple, the FCC, and the sideloading solution {Engadget}

Aug 24th 2009 3:01PM You're right, but if Apple ever changes their mind and allows background processing they'll find a way to force you to re-purchase everything you've ever purchased on iTunes, insult Microsoft, and claim that everyone stole the idea from them.

Editorial: Apple, the FCC, and the sideloading solution {Engadget}

Aug 24th 2009 2:58PM I absolutely do not want to start a war over Apple vs. Microsoft, but I honestly do not understand why it's acceptable to hate (and fine billions, too) Microsoft because they won't bundle Firefox and Chrome, but then everyone says "Apple should be able to decide what they allow on the iPhone." I just flat out do not understand.

I understand that it's my choice and I can go elsewhere if I don't like Apple's arbitrary rules, but when does it go from "their undeniable right to control" to "illegal"?

Rhapsody brings subscription music to the iPhone, pending Apple's approval {Engadget}

Aug 24th 2009 11:27AM Without background apps this is nice, but still not great. Interested to see what might happen with this on Android where things are, shall we say, a little more open.

REPORT: Kansas enacts 'Right Lane Law,' officially lands on Autoblog's Christmas card list {Autoblog}

Aug 21st 2009 10:49AM @mitchw, and that's exactly the problem with this otherwise good-intentioned law. Usually, laws that say the left lane for passing come with a stipulation that says you cannot pass on the right. So, if someone hijacks the left lane you're screwed. What they're doing is illegal, but you have to do something illegal to get passed them.

US, Canada, and Spain 'win' the battle for most expensive cellphone bills {Engadget}

Aug 12th 2009 12:19PM @CtrlBurn, I agree completely. I have thousands upon thousands of rollover minutes that I never use. Let me trade some of those minutes for texts. Or better yet, since I have unlimited data let me just use that for texting. It's absurd that texting costs what it does.

USAA's Deposit@Mobile app puts check deposits a mug shot away {Engadget}

Aug 11th 2009 12:35PM @vertigo1, I deposited a check this morning (the app update actually came out today) with the iPhone 3G and it worked fine. You don't need an autofocus from that distance.

Dell Mini 12 quietly discontinued {Engadget}

Aug 7th 2009 1:06PM The Mini 12 was by far the best Netbook. It was the thinnest laptop they had (except for the Adamo) and only weighed 2.75lbs. I really hope they replace it with something comparable. No way am I buying a fat chode like the Mini 9/10 or heavy 14z, 13, etc.

TomTom's iPhone car kit and navigation software priced overseas {Engadget}

Aug 6th 2009 10:23AM Is there a plugin I can download to completely ignore anyone who ever uses the phrase "nuff said"? Some sort of "useless forum phrases" filter...
