Kaiser killer? i-mate's Ultimate 9502 reviewed {Engadget Mobile}

May 19th 2008 6:25PM Portability is not an issue AT ALL. At least for me. First, the included leather case is pretty awesome, its the first time I was ever able to use one for more than a week. Second, its thinner than a tytn II, which is a top seller, and I don't see people bitching about its portability.

The only thing is that it's heavy because of all the metal used on the device, but for me thats a huge plus, it doesn't feel plasticky like the tytn. It feels very sturdy and expensive, definitely doesn't feel like a cheap toy.

Kaiser killer? i-mate's Ultimate 9502 reviewed {Engadget Mobile}

May 19th 2008 5:11PM I bought one from Clove in the UK like almost a month ago. Took only 2 days to arrive here in Boston. I think I paid about $680 shipped. Not too bad considering all the features, and even comparing to the price of a Tytn 2.

Overall VERY good phone. I usually HATE the sliding keyboard form-factor like the Tytn series, and I must say the 9502 IS an exception.

The VGA screen is absolutely stunning. Finally a VGA windows mobile device with American 3G! YAY! Oh and it also DOES HSUPA! Didn't even know AT&T had that being deployed, my UPLOADS average 500kbps on this thing. Crazy.

Of course, it has the usual windows mobile slowness, but it switches from portrait to landscape mode very quick.

About the drivers, I haven't tested a lot of video on it, but I'm sure even though it has a Qualcomm Chip for processor, gps, etc, it is using a GoForce 5500. This was confirmed by the CEO of i-mate during an interview. It even has wide vga TV-out(cables included), which is pretty cool.

If anyone wants to know anything just ask here and I'll answer it.
