The 5DII is the first camera I have purchased for myself, and it is the first digital camera to take the official photo of the president. The only way to make this post more validating is to pick it as the winner!

Ask Engadget: Best laptop for multimedia editing? {Engadget}
Nov 6th 2008 11:42PM Lenovo T400. Crisis plays, but not super well. I use photoshop and lightroom without problems. The battery life is pretty good, I can get about 4 hours with the wifi on using integrated graphics (six cell). The discrete card sucks the juice. Make sure to call about student discounts, they can give you more savings. With a 3 yr accidental damage and spill warranty mine came to $1,800. I wouldn't want a glossy screen for photoshop work (New Macbook). I know you said you weren't interested in battery life, but I carry mine with me to class everyday and it is nice to not have to plug in all the time. Good Luck!

Ask Engadget: Subnote or full-sized laptop for university use? {Engadget}
May 15th 2008 7:08PM I use an old 15" Dell Inspiron 8200. It has left my desk for group projects once or twice in five years at college. I also use a PDA to keep track of my schedule, tasks and reviewing powerpoint notes. The ipaq classic 110 has blue tooth and wifi so you could connect to a wireless keyboard if you wanted to take notes in word without having to carry much with you. I prefer to take notes on loose leaf paper and then file it folders. You never run of pages and it is easy to add to old notes. Think about the notes you write in class, make sure you understand what you are writing and you will not have to study as much later. Ask you teacher questions if you don't understand, they will appreciate your effort to understand and you won't be left behind.
