Oct 28th 2006 12:39PM IMHO the importance of brand is a function of how long the technology has been around. Cell phones are relatively recent when compared with regular home phones. I don't care what brand my home phone is, but I sure do when it comes to my mobile phone.
When technologies mature they are commoditised, and when that happens, brand power starts to fade.
