Mar 5th 2008 7:38PM I still love my 1st-gen box. Many may consider it ugly, but to me it was a cheap, utilitarian, and reasonably efficient Toyota.
They alienated everyone that originally purchased 1st-gen Scions, and as others have said, ruined a unique, fast-selling vehicle. The new xB is flat out hideous, out of proportion, and to me, very feminine looking. What a shame.

Mar 5th 2008 12:40AM I think this a reverse-slashdot-effect. APCMAG ripped the fake/bad/ancient news from a tard-post on slashdot, Techdirt picked it up, and Engadget picked it up from them.
Guess that's what happens when people treat APCMAG as a *news* source. I think you get more relevant and valid news from The Onion.

Dec 5th 2006 10:54PM Are you stating that a Fuel Cell doesn't use hydrogen?
If they can fit a system such as this into a car (or your garage, etc) It could be a viable solution in comparison to buying hydrogen outright.
I'm of the opinion that a diesel hybrid is still the best solution in the long run.
With a full EV you still have to worry about the initial electricity generation and where it comes from (coal, nuclear, natural gas).

Sep 5th 2006 12:33PM In this day and age, what is the point of getting a Tri-band GSM phone FCC approved? Much less making a tri-band phone in the first place?
Both Cingular and T-Mobile have and/or are working on rolling out 850 Mhz cells nationwide, and while T-Mobile has widespread 1900 Mhz coverage (at least around Houston, TX), exactly how much more would it cost to make a quad-band über-device?
Then you have one device you can sell world-wide...

Apple needs to jump on the clue train and either drop their hardware business altogether or charge prices more in line with the commoditized PC/Server market.
There is nothing special about Apple's hardware anymore.

May 26th 2006 5:21PM I know for sure, at least 6 years ago, that Sprint had about the worst
network coverage of any wireless carrier in my general (Houston, TX)
area.On top of that, during the past 3 years I had a
work-issued nextel, that while much better than anything I had with
Sprint, didn't work for squat inside any buildings I frequented, and
I had several 'dropped calls' when I was stationary--go figure. Full
signal, then bam, call dropped.From my perspective (again
Houston, TX) Verizon Wireless has the best coverage while
simltaneously having the worst customer service/customer
policies/rates of any US wirless carrier.I can't speak to
Cingular's service, never having any dealings with them, nor knowing
anyone who uses it, but I have been a happy T-Mobile customer for the
6 years since I broke the chains of Sprint PCS bondage, and while
their coverage may not be the 'ultimate' their customer service has
been top-notch, and I haven't had a contract for 5 years.
