Creating a ringtone using only iTunes {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}

Oct 7th 2008 8:43AM I dont do ringtones with lyrics in them anymore, just the instrumental, I hate peoples phones screaming in public.... I got over that phaze five years ago with my old school i930. Bring it back to the basic's people. But anyway, I usually find you still have to do a little audio editing in audacity to turn the down bass and turn up the treble. Then amplify so you can actually hear it. It just sounds so much better.

Daylight saving time change: What your PC needs to know {Download Squad}

Feb 15th 2007 2:30PM 2000 won't get the update. It's considered a feature upgrade and not a critical patch, which is the only kind of patch 2000 gets as part of Microsoft's strategy to force upgrades of its most stable OS. There is a little known utility call TZedit.exe that should do the trick though.

The Clicker: Digital content -- why the sense of entitlement? {Engadget}

Sep 22nd 2006 12:48PM Tangible goods are one thing, but information that is copied thousands of times for pennies is the difference. Production costs do matter. I dont want to pay for information which is only a small fraction of the creator's compensation. If I listen to it, I might just go to a concert, buy a tee shirt or some other tangible good from the artist, which will compensate him for creating good content, not just any worlthless content. Its a joke that production studios can even get away with DRM. Imagine buying a Sony VHS and being told it will only play in a Sony VCR's. If this was the case, digital formats would not be as usefull as they are now.
