Sony announces VAIO W... netbook! {Engadget}

Jul 7th 2009 12:36AM Excited about the WXGA screen. Too bad they won't/can't/haven't stuff(ed) in decent graphics...

Vaio P with updated 1.6GHz Atom and 128GB SSD is still weak-sauce {Engadget}

Jun 22nd 2009 1:41PM Have you haters seen/touched the damn thing? It's gorgeous. The engineering is A+

Apple better get busy cuz this Netbook fractal is growing...

Bezos suggests Kindle books will appear on more devices, compete with Kindle readers {Engadget}

Jun 16th 2009 7:38PM I was in St Louis airport last friday and saw three people reading their Kindle. I was like "holy crap, where have I been, in a cave!?"

Truth be told, how many friggin devices do we need on our person? Your cell phone can easily become an e-reader. No one does it (not even me). I guess we're all just big babies about e-reading. The Kindle is gorgeous but do we really need another damn device to lug around? it's nuts...

Palm Pixie (Eos) confirmed via webOS ROM leak? {Engadget}

Jun 11th 2009 11:57AM For clues look at the Centro. I think it was a good seller for Palm. It's a great design and I hope the new WebOS phone will mimic it as much as possible. You just can't get smaller and still provide a keyboard. Whoever designed the Centro deserves a lap dance...

Nikon readies entry-level DSLR with articulating display for April 14th launch? (updated with spyshots!) {Engadget}

Apr 9th 2009 6:52AM My D70 still makes great pix. I drool over these new cameras but can't justify the upgrade.

I wish Minox would create a tiny, shirt pocket camera along the lines of their fabulous tiny 35mm cameras back in the eighties. I guess cell phone cameras will get to that level and portability won't be an issue any more...

LaCie offers up LaCinema Classic multimedia hard drive {Engadget}

Jan 8th 2009 9:07AM I saw another version of these puppies with Ethernet at Fry's this weekend.

These are getting closer and closer to VLC and my Mac Mini but I don't see how they will ever keep up with the barrage of CODECs we have to deal with.

Apple's final Macworld keynote is tomorrow, and we'll be there live! {Engadget}

Jan 5th 2009 1:08PM A new Mac-Mini announcement will keep me refreshing.

The Mac Mini is the best hacker product out there. Now that we have 500GB 2.5" drives, it's only going to get better.

What a great time to be alive, if only for the stupid Mac Mini!

Palm's preliminary quarter-end results show drooping revenues, bleak outlook {Engadget}

Dec 2nd 2008 11:11AM The Centro is an amazing phone with the best OS for its form factor/purpose. That said, Palm has missed so many opportunities that have been filled by other companies my head spins: Blackberry (real-time email), WinMo (outlook sync), and now the Internet (iPhone, gPhone). And they've been doing this phone thing longer than all of them!

Is there anything left? I guess just the consumer experience, specifically the low-tech/low-cost consumer experience (teens, girls, etc). The Centro fills that void although the marketing message is barely getting through. They need to create a fun, 'cool' phone to remain viable. Remember how cool Handspring was? No reason why that can't be repeated even now.

The opportunity to expand the Centro 'experience' exists, but Palm needs to work fast(er). Partner with Facebook and create a seamless Facebook experience for example. Partner with Quicken and create a lifestyle/savings/money management cloud-phone for example.

Palm Treo Pro now shipping {Engadget}

Sep 26th 2008 10:15AM This phone looks great; I just wish it had Palm OS.

The keyboard on these Treo's is close to perfect. The form factor is close to perfect. This phone and the Centro are really the smallest you can go with a full keyboard. All these show-off slider phones are just too plain big/heavy.
