Terminal Tip: Disabling Leopard's Dock spring windows {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 17th 2008 8:49AM "Both the menu and context menu give the option of opening in Finder, but there's no way to have single-click-open-in-Finder without hacking the plist."
...well...if you command-click the icon, it opens the folder in Finder.

Also... whose bright idea was the name Spark? I can see the recall letters now.....
Palm's airport stores not closing, because they don't belong to Palm {Engadget Mobile}
Feb 6th 2008 10:29PM One great thing about Pittsburgh International is the requirement that stores there have normal 'mall prices'. Effectively, this prevents stores from price gouging due to convenience like they do in every other airport.

Jan 24th 2008 8:04PM You also left out my favorite, as well: the grandfather clock. Given that the contestants on TPiR are either really old or college students, I can imagine one of the college kids having a nice grandfather clock in his frat house bedroom.
Those iPod touch MIA features {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Jan 16th 2008 11:15PM I actually think the thing that is going to make people more angry than the fact that right now they're not getting new free features like wiggling and such is that in a month when the SDK is released, they likely won't be able to install any new apps since they don't have the fancy customizable Springboard....
Guess we'll just have to wait and see on that one.... As for SOX, I can understand Apple wanting to ensure proper accounting or whatever, but... Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, Sony PS3/PSP, .... any cell phone ... heck.. even the Toyota Prius.. have all had software upgrades at 0 additional cost. Maybe those companies accounted for the revenue spread out over time, too, like Apple is doing with the AppleTV and iPhone.
PC Mag gives iPod Touch an Editor's Choice {The Unofficial Apple Weblog (TUAW)}
Sep 13th 2007 9:33PM I think the most important thing to realize when complaining about the amount of flash that the iPod Touch has is that the iPod Nano is the best selling mp3 player...ever. While the touch's capacity may be a problem for some, it seems that many, many, many people are more than satisfied with their 1, 2, 4, or 8gb nano.
HTC releases official update for AT&T 8525 {Engadget Mobile}
May 1st 2007 10:50AM In response to #11:
The following information is from xda-developers and does work:
Disable/change the startup animation or sound
HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\StartupAnimation
Enabled - change from 1 to 0 to turn everything off and permanently fix the volume issue.
You can also customize the animated boot up by deleting or changing 2 keys. (Doing this does not fix the volume issue)
Delete the WAVFile Key to remove the sound only.
Delete the GIFFile Key to remove the animation only.
Put your own .GIF file or .WAV file on the phone and rewrite the 2 keys (WAVFile GIFFile) to the new file location. i.e. \My Documents\Files\CustomAnimation.gif
More info about tweaking the 8525's registry can be found at:

HTC releases official update for AT&T 8525 {Engadget Mobile}
Apr 30th 2007 5:57PM A couple comments about this new firmware
1) The new ATT startup sound is HORRIBLE and loud
2) When it was doing the carrier branding after the firmware installed, the glorious U (UMTS) logo showed up. Now here in Pittsburgh, we don't yet have UMTS, so i was shocked to see it. Needless to say, it went away in favor of the E. :(
Metareview: Yoshi's Island DS {DS Fanboy}
Nov 14th 2006 6:29PM I take it back.. my DS was apparently being stupid the times I closed it which made it shut off instead of sleeping. The game is great.
Metareview: Yoshi's Island DS {DS Fanboy}
Nov 14th 2006 5:59PM One thing none of the reviews seem to mention is the fact that Yoshi's Island DS seemingly does not support the DS' sleep functionality. I closed my DS to pause it for a bit and it turned off! OFF! *grumble*
