Sprint XOHM WiMAX networks reportedly active in other cities {Engadget}

Oct 6th 2008 12:26PM Has anyone heard back regarding the upcoming quality test in Baltimore? They said they would be calling on participants early this week but that they only need a small group out of hundreds of applicants.

HP's 2730p EliteBook tablet PC reviewed, seriously loved {Engadget}

Oct 2nd 2008 2:52PM @qrius: That is the one I had. I got it for $350 a year or so ago and I love it. Then I broke it and I can't justify spending another $300-400 on a laptop at the moment (not in my current budget). I do love these used tablets though. They have the specs of a decent netbook (1.5ghz, 1gb ram, 64mb video card, etc) but add the tablet functionality.

Watermill pulls drinking water from thin air {Engadget}

Oct 2nd 2008 12:26PM Dammit! You beat me by 5 minutes but your comment hadn't shown up yet. Get out of my head!!

HP's 2730p EliteBook tablet PC reviewed, seriously loved {Engadget}

Oct 2nd 2008 12:23PM I miss having a tablet after I broke my Toshiba. I would love one of these but there is no way I can afford one. Convertible tablets are crucial in meetings and out and about. You get used to the added functionality and it is hard to give it up.

Watermill pulls drinking water from thin air {Engadget}

Oct 2nd 2008 9:55AM These are nothing new. I've been running moisture vaporators for years now. What I really need is a droid who speaks Bocce.

WiFi-enabled Crestron touchpanel aids in stargazing {Engadget}

Oct 1st 2008 1:55PM That is odd because I work with Crestron equipment on a daily basis at work. I wonder what they are actually paying me for instead.

XOHM WiMAX tested in Baltimore, does work in cars {Engadget}

Oct 1st 2008 10:36AM They should have compared it to Sprint's EVDO which is faster here in Baltimore since they got Rev. A a while back. Still, the new service is faster and I hope they get back to me next week about testing.

Netflix API open to all: let the developing begin {Engadget}

Sep 30th 2008 9:36PM This is odd timing. I just started using the MyNetflix plugin for Windows Media Center and it has been awesome. The functionality was already there but there is something nice (and Luddite-friendly) about being able to just browse hundreds of movies from my couch via remote control and have them play fullscreen. This ought to make good plugins like this even more common.

Dell rolls out S1909WX, S1709W LCD monitors {Engadget}

Sep 30th 2008 12:51PM Why? There are 22" monitors with better resolution on newegg for under $200. Sure they are just more TN panels but for the average joe that's all you need and that's all these are too.

Verizon getting a CDMA iPhone that runs Windows Mobile, clears acne {Engadget}

Sep 29th 2008 4:25PM The funny thing is that I use CDMA (Sprint EVDO) because it *is* the fastest and I can stream music and watch TV over it. It's also cheap as hell. WiMax just rolled out in my city today and I would imagine they are planning to transition to something more like that in a few years but for the time being $15/mo EVDO at DSL speeds is fine by me. I'm more interested in an Android or WM7 phone though. The only thing worse than having to install ActiveSync to manage my phone would be having to install iTunes to manage my phone *shudders*.
